It's been about 3 days since that night. August hadn't heard from him since then. He tried to contact him a few times, but Edward didn't pick up and he didn't call too much in fear of invading his privacy. It was clear he needed some space and August perfectly understood that.
He'll surely contact him soon...Of course he will. There's no doubt about it, since they love each other. It…It's just a phase…
To be honest, August would really like to know what was going on with Edward's life and help if he can. He also wanted to know his problems and help him with them, just like he did. But since he wasn't ready to tell him, he won't force it either. That's just how love is. It's being there for each other at all times, but knowing not to cross certain lines.
His heart calmed down a little at the thought of Edward. He remembered all their good times, even finding his previous worries laughable now. How can Edward, a person so kind and sweet, ever do that? It's simply impossible.
With a light shake of his head, he tried to drive those nonsensical thoughts away. Well, rather than troubling himself with mindless worries, he should get some work done here. He approached the black haired girl and asked, "Clarence? Can I help you with anything?"
Clary smiled, "It's Clary, remember?"
"I'm sorry, I always seem to forget that, Clarence- No, Clary," He looked on guiltily, face apologetic.
"Senior, it was already difficult to get you to remove the 'Miss'. Going to Clary is gonna take some time, after all. Anyway, help?" She looked at her work and muttered, "Hmm, not really. I'll be done in an hour."
"Let me help you with that," He offered.
Clary didn't refuse and smiled gratefully, "Thanks, senior," She picked up about half the documents and handed them to August, "-Here."
He accepted them and immersed himself in work, his mind and heart at ease.
Edward looked at his phone and waited. There was an old message from August, asking him where he was and would he like to meet up for breakfast. He refreshed it multiple times, but no new message popped up. After waiting for an hour, sighed in frustration and called someone.
The girl on the other end didn't look too happy either to receive his call. "What is it, Edward?"
"Did you do what I asked for?"
Kaitlyn scowled but still replied politely, "Well, yes. I told two girls and they confirmed the job has been done."
"Are...Are you really sure he heard them?"
"Yes," She knew it was the perfect opportunity to ask Edward out, but for some reason, she didn't really want to. Come to think of it, this time, she didn't even feel a little bit excited when he called. It's like her attraction kind of faded away, making her feel indifferent.
Edward hung up on her, expression troubled. If...If August heard them, why didn't he call? Why didn't he ask what it was, confront him about it? Just why is he so okay with it all?
Why does he trust a person who has been nothing but a liar since beginning?
