It's been two days since Kai and Qing yuan had that weird but almost satisfying encounter. Kai had ran away to Li Jen's room after Li Jie came and made everything akward. His mother had came to help him sneaked away, but at the same time Qing yuan came into the room to see if he, who Wing yuan thought is Li Jen, was ok. So he couldn't go with his mother, and for some strange reason, he sort of didn't want to go. And it was all because of Wing yuan. So he started to pretended like he was telling her about a meal she should prepare for him, and Sue-May and quickly scurry from the room. But not before, mouthing an I love you, and he is handsome to him. Which made him blush. If his mother could see that he fancied Shui, could Shui tell as well. He is a Prospector afterrall, he might be just a young disciple, but he was capable of many things.
Now here they are, walking to the garden for a few martial arts lesson. Kai had came out onto the balcony and saw Qing yuan meditating in the garden, when a brilliant idea popped up into his head.
'If I am here for a few more days, I might just ask Shui to teach me some martial arts, and spend a sometime with him. He wouldn't think nothing of it, because Li Jen is a Mage, so she is required to learn and he is her fiance.' Kai chuckled excitedly, as he quickly got dress and ran down to the garden.
"Qing yuan, please." Kai whined when Shui wouldn't even open his eyes to look at him.
He was still meditating when Kai got down to the garden, and he had started to call Qing yuan, but he would not answer him. Until it now turned into full pestering.
One thing Huang Qing yuan hate, was when he is meditating or studying and someone started to bother him. He would do his best to ignore them, and they would eventually get the message. But Li Jen wasn't like everybody else, and still continued to pester him, and it made him really irritated.
"Come on Shui, teach me some martial arts." And that made Qing yuan lose it.
He sprang up out of his meditating position, and drew his sword from it's sheath aiming it at Kai's neck. "Only people close to me, gets to call me Shui." He pull back his sword and place it back where it belonged.
Kai's heart thumb rapidly in his chest, if it wasn't for the fact that he was truly a man. He would have ran away screaming like a girl.
"Don't you know that you should never distract a Prospector when he is meditating. We are interacting with our inner core when we meditate, and you just let me lose focus." Qing yuan grit his teeth in annoyance. "And just a quick earning for you next time, only ones closest to me get to call me Shui." Qing yuan turned his back on Kai and started to walk away, leaving a stunned looking Kai.
But Kai wasn't having it that way. This might be the only chance he get to learn a few martial arts moves, and he wasn't going to let it slip by. Not calling by his pet name, Kai could careless. Even though it kinda of stung when he said that only people closest to him can call him by it, and Kai felt this strong connection to him. He even started to have dreams about him. Dreams that he dare not say out loud, but wish to continuing having everynight.
Shaking those lewd thoughts from his head, he composed himself like the young princess he is pretending to be, and stomped his way over to where Wing yuan is…just standing with his hand behind his back and staring out in the distance.
Kai came and stood beside him, but he didn't seems to noticed. Or maybe he is just ignoring him.
"Qing yuan." Kai called, poking him on his hand, but he still didn't look at him. So he tried again. "Qing yuan?" He called even louder, but still, no response. 'Third time is always the charm.' Kai thought, but as he opened his mouth to call Qing yuan again. Qing yuan spin around in a swift motion and place his finger on Kai's lips, leaning closer and whispered in his ear making Kai shiver.
"The next words that comes out of your pretty little mouth better be, Qing yuan I am sorry of disturbing you or I won't bother you again." Qing yuan move away from Kai, and look at him.
Kai started to blush from Shui's intest gaze, but started to slap his cheeks to get his head to focus again.
"You call yourself a Prospector, you aren't even a gentleman. Ignoring your future wife like this." Kai sassily curse at Shui.
Qing yuan snort unpleasantly at Kai's words, before he too retort with something at made Kai almost gave himself away.
"Future wife? Ha, I don't even love you to consider you as my wife. Prospectors are taught to wedd other Prospectors. We believe in soulmates, and a Prospector can only and has ever find their significant other amongst other Prospectors. I am just doing this because of my princly duties."
"So you don't love Li Jen, no wonder she ran away with Lee Cheng." He murmured the last part, but spoke the first part of his sentence loud enough for Qing yuan to hear.
Kai felt eyes on him, and look up to see Qing yuan looking at him with confused eyes. He scratched his head in from his own confusion, before his eyes widen when he realised that Qing yuan might of heard what he said.
'Oh no, this is bad. I should have left when mother told me to.' Kai started to have a mental break down, and the thoughts of what could happen made his stomach churn. 'Kai, breathe.' He tried to calm himself. 'Maybe he doesn't know anything, and besides, he is confused and not suspicious. Yes, thats right.' Kai plaster a smile on his face and took one of Qing yuan's hand in both of his.
Qing yuan was a young man of many things, but naive wasn't one of them. From he got to the palace and saw Li Jen, he knew something was off about her. She wasn't behaving like her usual self, especially her reaction to her getting married to him, even though she have known from they were six. And her she is now, acting like she was someone else, and looking guilty like he had caught her in a lie.
'Are you hiding something princess Li Jen, or are all female just crazy?'
Qing yuan looked down when Li Jen took his hand into her smaller ones. They were so soft and delicate, that Qing yuan had to fight the urge not to rub his cheek with them. He look up and stare into Li Jen's eyes, and he must say that he had forgotten all that happened in the last few minutes.
Li Jen smile at him and he couldn't help but to smile back.
"I know I have been bothering you all morning, but I just thought that because we are going to get married soon, that you could teach me some martial arts moves."
Qing yuan's eyebrows raise in confusion, and when he remembered what happen earlier, they raised in suspicion. Why would Li Jen want to learn martial arts, when he has already graduated from cultivation school. She's a Mage, and a very good one at that. So there's no way she would want any lessons from him.
It's like Li Jen had noticed the suspicious look on his face, he heard her cleared her throat and mumbled."I haven't practiced in a while, and with the Dark Moon orb reawakened again. I want to be ready in case I have to defend myself, but if you don't want to train me, I will go and ask my brother." She let go off Qing yuan's hand, and his hand instantly missed the warmth that her hand brought.
"So why didn't you go to him in the first place?" Shui said coldly. He didn't want her to see that she was breaking his walls little by little.
"Because you are a Prospector and more skilled than Li Jie, and I thought that because we are going to get married soon, that you would have pity on me." Li Jen face away from him, and wipe a stray tear that had fallen down her right cheek.
'Is she crying? Did I hurt her feelings? I am a Prospector, I am supposed to protect, and keep order. Not let ladies, especially my future wife, cry. If Master could see me now, he would be so disappointed in me.' Qing yuan thought, and just like that. He found himself agreeing to teach Li Jen.
"Oh good, thank you so much." She spin around so quickly that Qing yuan wondered how she didn't lose her balance. She quickly wipe away any trace of tears that might have made their way down her cheeks, and her face became brighter than ever. Like she wasn't just upset that he wouldn't teach her.
Did he just got played? Now this wasn't like Li Jen, and Qing yuan was going to get to the bottom of whatever is happening. And if teaching her martial arts the only way he is going to find out, than that is what he will do.
