Detective Miller was writing fiercely on a book, documenting the statement he was going to submit to Captain Walter. It had been a terrific day that was made even worse with the directive of the captain that all unit heads should submit all their reports for the last twenty-four hours to her.
With Rachel absent, he was saddled with the entire responsibility of getting the report ready. It was not that he minded. It was the timing of everything that felt wrong. He would have rather preferred to be allowed to go and question Dr. Griffin and not sit here in his booth writing like some damned secretary.
He wondered how Captain Walter would feel when she read that he had just arrested a very well-respected doctor and was about to charge him for murder on multiple counts or at least an accomplice to murder depending on how the investigation went. It hardly mattered now because the deed had already been done.
