Detective Miller felt a wave of nostalgia as he drove past the gates of Living Spring hospital and onto the wide expanse of land on which the hospital stood on like a phoenix aiming for the sky.
The building was enormously massive and stood as a towering figure intimidating anyone who drew close enough to it. It was hard to imagine that just a few weeks ago, this massive building had almost gone down because of a single human.
He brushed the thought out of his head as quickly as it had formed, not wanting to allow it to ruin his mood this morning. Not that he was particularly cheerful anyway. He was hanging on a thin thread of hope. A hope that he wished would not be shattered at the hospital.
The car came to a stop in the parking lot. He did not have the time to park properly. He wanted to be in and out of here in a flash. He had other stops to make today.
