She ran her hands through her soft slimy hair as she stood over the shower, enjoying the cool of the water. The cold speckled water slid down her neck chasing each other down her skin. This was the moment Vanessa looked forward to at the end of every day; the moment when she could afford to only pay attention to herself and allow herself to forget what it felt like to be a woman of power and influence in the ailing world.
Five minutes passed and she was still in the shower. The slow sound of the water running through the shower sounded like sweet music to her ears, music that soothed her soul. She could stay in here forever.
The water came to a stop as she voiced out a command to it. Vanessa reached out and grabbed a towel by the pane. She used it to wipe the traces of water left on her body beginning with her hair. She would have to air dry her hair tonight if she wanted to sleep comfortably.
