Detective Miller massaged the walkie-talkie in his hand. He hesitated to return it to his wait band, where he had taken it from. He had just received some new piece of information from the captain, although he was not sure yet how that piece of information was supposed to help him solve the puzzle that was glaring him in the face.
For about two weeks now, he had been buried in the case at Living Spring Hospital with his partner, Detective Rachel Cooper. With every single day that passed, their chances of solving the case became slimmer as the stories that were told by eyewitnesses continued to get twisted by time and their perception of what they thought they saw.
Detective Miller was trying hard not to lose it. He had to stay sane until all these blew over. He finally replaced his walkie-talkie where it belonged and drew in a deep breath.
