Chapter 34 - Druids are easy

Odin opened his eyes and realized he was still in the workshop. Odin started at the marble wall before he got up and walked out.

Odin looked at the door that led back to earth before he left a message for the group. He had not eaten or relaxed in two weeks, so he was going to return to earth to have some me time.

As Odin opened the door, his body shrunk down to his original height. The process was painful, but Odin didn't notice it. Odin appeared in his room but he quickly teleported using his suit and appeared in a restaurant near his place.

Odin walked to a table and sat down. deactivating his invisibility, he called a server and ordered his food. The typical order of bistec tacos and large baked potato had been multiplied by four. Odin ate the huge meal slowly and silently as he watched the clouds pass by.

Once done, Odin plaid and left, returning home. As he walked and looked at the trees and plants, Odin saw small, mist-like energy seeping out of the plants. As the energy passed by him, Odin gained bits of information. He could tell which plants were not watered and if they were in improper environments.

Odin concentrated his biomancy senses and felt the life in a mile around him. It truly was a new sensation, Odin returned to normal and continued his way back home.

Returning home, Odin saw the androids in the living room except for Mordred, who was apparently sleeping. This confused him, but the androids answered simply.

"They made us like humans. We naturally have human personalities. She is efficient but also lazy. That's why she does her job quickly, so she can sleep longer." Raven said as she ate a bag of chips.

"Ah, I see. Well, I'll be going to sleep as well, so don't be too loud." Odin said as he entered his room.

The figure of a slumbering Mordred caught his attention, but Odin just sighed and took his own half of the bed and quickly fell asleep.

As he slept, Odin was dragged into the dreamlands. As he floated through the stars, he felt two powerful gazes lock on to him. Soon, an influx of information entered his mind.

When he first gained the knowledge on technomancy and biomancy, it was more of an instinctual knowledge. It was like knowing you could see but not understanding why and how it worked.

He has a guess that as long as he was attuned to the subject, he could improve on his mystical art, but now it had been proven and he had even gained a basic practice for both arts.

He has learned the basics of technomancy. He was currently an inferior adept, a rank below the first level of the mystic art. Odin had a connection with technology but still needed to use machines to connect with the world of information. Once he reached level 1, he would become the machine and could directly talk with machines.

Currently, his level could only speak to working machines but once he reached level one he could speak to broken machines the higher the level the more abilities he would have like making machines out of pure data or even giving them souls, in the same way, A.I's gained theirs.

Biomancy was the organic, mystic art of technomancy. They worked the same, but we're based on different beings. Just like technomancy could use cameras to view the world around him, biomancy used plants or other organic life to view the world.

At the fifth level, he could have mastery over the creation of biological life. As he learned, his understanding of the two mystical arts increased slowly until he reached the 1st level. Once he made his breakthrough, he woke up.

"Have you woken up?" Mordred's voice entered his ears.

Odin looked down and saw the android laying on his chest.

"Uh, was it me or you who did this?" Odin asked as he got up.

"It was me. I assisted you in making a breakthrough in both mystical arts. When you are ready for the next breakthrough, please come to me and I will help you again." Mordred said as she turned around and fell asleep.

"Why?" Odin asked.

"I am a good source of biological and technological data. I can lower the breakthrough time by at least 87%." Mordred said.

"Also, once you have reached level two in all mystical arts, come to me and I will teach you."

"Ok, well, I'll be leaving. Keep the place tidy." Odin said as he returned to the store.

'Now, what is on the agenda today? Oh yeah, I have to release the rabies cure. I need to make the disperser to have it spread through the air. If done, right, it will take a month to fully have everyone, and all animals, treated.' Odin thought as he went to the workshop.

Inside the workshop, he saw the entire group sitting around the workbench. The gloomy mood could be slashed with how thick it was.

"I didn't think my change of schedule would affect you guys this much?" Odin said as he walked toward them.

The group looked up and quickly ran to him.

"Odin, we need your help. The beast horde is attacking the city!" Sigrid yelled.

"Ok, but why must I help can't you do it yourselves?" Odin asked.

"This isn't a normal horde. They're led by ten druids. Half of them are rage druids. If we do nothing, the city is as good as gone!" Greg explained.

"Oh, druids, ok that's all you needed to say. Lead the way to my new toys!" Odin said as he quickly took a huge metal box and a giant bolter and stored it in his inventory.

Ragnar and Sigrid led him out as they went down the mountain they saw many animals. From gorillas with four arms to giant fiery lizards, they were like a sea of monsters that roamed the earth.

The horde didn't even acknowledge them as they made their way deeper into the forest towards where the druids were. As Odin passed by the animals, he took blood samples for his research.

It wasn't until half an hour later that they had finally reached the epicenter of the horde. In the middle stood ten lanky figures. Five were covered in what looked like dried flesh, while the others wore clothing made of hemp or some other type of fiber.

Odin took out the giant box and pressed on it. The box changed sizes and turned into a giant Gatling auto-cannon. Odin placed his arm into the auto-cannon and lifted the 4-ton auto-cannon with ease.

Connecting the belt feed to the auto-cannon, Odin made sure everything was ready before the sound of the spinning barrels quickly turned into pure mayhem as 4 caliber bullets were shot at 65 RPS.

The bullets seemed alive as they locked onto a target and tore them to shreds. This machine of death was one of the bolter variants he had made as he researched the bolter two weeks ago.

The frame was based on the GAU-8/A but after doing what Odin called 40k-ing it; he had made a bolter that shot 4 caliber rounds at 3,900 RPM. The gun weighed over two armored space marines without ammo and could easily shred them if the bolter rounds hit.

Odin had wanted to add a homing function, but it was too difficult to make, but that changed with his technomancy abilities. Using the gyrostabilizer, he could 'talk' to it and tell it where to go.

Odin made his way to the middle while killing hundreds of beasts. The box on his back carried lots of ammo, but as the bolts were too big, Odin only had 1,000 rounds. As Odin received the low ammo message from the gun, he switched to the heavy bolter and finished the job.

Before the druids could see the face of the figure who had massacred their beast, they were restrained and sedated. Odin only took two of both druid types before killing the rest.

Odin quickly returned at light speed and placed the druids in a cage as he got his equipment ready.

"These druids are so easy I wish the rest of 40k would be like this!" Odin said as he took different sampling equipment.
