Chapter 36 - Unraveled strings that shouldn't be unraveled

(before you read if you have read my other half works you will probably already know mc's identity if not it's ok because he has so many that it doesn't even matter it won't change the story much as it's still going in the way I wanted it just how I decided to roll with it for now also this should be my longest chap at 2.7k words also my inbox doesn't work which sucks )

"A naive man is not good or evil, as he is ignorant of his own potential for good and evil. A good man knows how evil he can be and controls himself."

Odin phased through the ship and entered the ancient relic. Walking through dust covered hallways, Odin made his way to where the captain's deck would be. His steps echoed off the walls into the lonely ship.

As he made his way toward the depths of the ship, giant rat like beast appeared and tried to eat him. Odin ignored them. The storm above seemed to be omnipresent as small little sparks hit the rats and instantly turned them into ash.

The smell of burnt rats littered the hallway, but Odin only paid attention to the voice calling out from within a room. The discordant mass of code slowly turned into words that Odin understood. He quickly rushed toward the voice with all his might and easily barged into the room.

On the floor was a thick tablet. This was the source of the voice. Odin bent down and gently picked up the ancient relic. The tablet was corrupted, but he could still restore it if he had the equipment. Odin connected with the tablet and sent out a ping for any active technology.

Odin's ping was quickly replied to, and he found the locations of many active technologies. Three main ones stood out. One came from the captain's deck, the other from the engine bays, and the last from the factory portion of the ship.

Odin placed the tablet in his inventory and quickly went around the ship, taking all the active relics. If he saw an item that looked important, he took it as long as it wasn't secured to the point he would break it if he moved it he would take it.

As he arrived at one of the three relics, he saw inside of the propulsion systems. Once finding the relic and making contact with it, he found out it was an STC focused on anti-gravity technology. Odin lifted the heavy relic and placed it into his inventory before skipping toward the factory part of the ark.

The factory's STC could be said to be better than the anti-gravity STC it was focused on the development of the colony but as long as the STC had enough time it could give a method on how to create other items like weapons and armor. The last relic was from the captain's deck, and it was a map and calendar. It had recorded its journey from earth to Axis-9.

After a bit of studying, Odin knew where he was from earth or more like where it was 18,000 years ago. He would have to find the orbital path of the sun to make sure where the earth was and once that was done, he could prepare for his journey to mars.

He finally knew the year as well. It was currently August 10th, 41,100 A.D. It had been 18,633 years since the Freya came to Axis-9. Odin placed the map in his inventory and went towards a door and connected it to his shop.

The reason he didn't teleport or anything was that he wanted to use the shop's decontamination feature. Any time someone entered the shop, it would clean them and even heal them if they were badly injured.

Odin used this function to remove any radiation from him before connecting to the settlement where the group was.

As he exited a house, he saw the group resting near a fire, which made little sense to Odin as they were in power armor and wouldn't be able to feel the heat. Ragnar and Greg easily noticed his presence, who both looked excited even though the helmet covered their face.

"So I got the stuff." Odin said as he showed a tablet.

"What did it contain? Can it help us?" Greg said as he ran up.

"Well, I only checked the three compete STCs, so let's look at the other stuff together." Odin said as he placed many tablets, computers, and other devices.

"Uh, what's that?" Sigrid said as she pointed at the giant metal construct.

"An STC, this or standard template constructor the machine that makes the standard template construct. This one helps in making cities. It still can make other tech, but we need the resources and time to make it." Odin said as he patted it.

"This one here holds blueprints on anti-gravity technology. Unlike the other, one this can only make items from data blueprints, so if you wanted to say build a gun you would need the template for a gun stored in here to make one." Odin said as he patted another huge metal construct that looked black in color.

Odin took out the templates for the tech in the constructor and showed them to the group. The templates were like holograms shining in blue lights displaying their beautiful works.

"This is a map and calendar that belonged to the ship not much other than that unfortunately." Odin said as he showed a small disc that displayed a hologram of the galaxy or more of a portion of the galaxy.

"Now these were the complete ones. The rest are corrupted and need to be restored, so I can't really tell you what they hold for all I know. They could be an STC fragment for toilet paper or toasters." Odin said as he pointed at the rest of the tech.

"Also, touch nothing because it's heavily irradiated. I'll have to clean it and make sure it isn't leaking." Odin said as he stopped Ragnar from grabbing a tablet.

"So you'll be taking it?" Sigrid asked.

"Well, yeah, I need to clean it. Also, I need to fix them. They're nearly 20 thousand years old. They're bound to have something wrong with them." Odin said as he stored the items.

"Also, I found one of the radiation dragons, or whatever you call them." Odin casually dropped an atom bomb.

""A what!?"" the group shouted.

"Yeah, here I recorded the end of the fight." Odin said as he stretched out his hand and a holo screen appeared, showing the scene of Odin being attacked by the dragon's beam.

As the video ended, the group looked at Odin as if he was a monster.

"What get use to this theirs literally a demon that is a planet, also a foreign race from outside the galaxy that consumes biomass, also the halo stars are haunted, remnants of dead star gods, sadist elves, demons, a giant furry demigod, zombies, many diseases that are incurable, a living corpse god that is becoming a god as he comes closer to death, rouge A.I star ships with Chrono weapons, black hole weapons, anti-gravity weapons, any weapon you can name, oh and there an A.I that went into the future and had his captain butchered after he returned to this time point. So yeah, a little rad lizard ain't much. Why do you think I'm so nonchalant about anything? I'm in a world where even a god is not strong enough!" Odin said as he took the group back to the hideout.

'Also I got to thank you system for keeping my mind safe.'

[I have done nothing everything you have done is because you wanted it to go as that you are like sanguinis who could alter fate using his will I don't need to do much other than provided items as they say if you want something done find Odin and he'll do it]

'Ok, since when did people say that?'

[pope Urban the second]

'The guy that started the crusade, OK? I don't think he meant me.'

[then why did you help him in uniting Europe?]

'How would I know I was born in the fucking 2000s I'm not 1,000 years old?'

[did I get the wrong person then?]

'Well, I can tell you I'm only 19 and you should never look at my soul age because that is a load of baloney, ok?'

[when I was made I was given instructions to go to Odin and help him have fun. It has seemed that I choose the wrong person]

'Have fun?'

[yes I would say more, but that would violate the agreement. Please return to earth. I shall void your service. I should have realized it when you didn't know most of the tech and history of prime earth]

'Wait what!' Odin thought as his eyes widened.

'System, let me speak to Odin alone, please.' the guardian spoke.

[negative. We must not violate the agreement]

'It is him did you forget he never likes to talk about his other lives unless he has proof of it he told you remember?' the guardian said Odin realized that time seemed frozen and before he could do anything he appeared in a world of shattered glass.

"Odin, we can be honest, right? I know you like to be a piece of work, but can we drop the act just for right now?" the guardian said as he manifested above Odin.

Odin looked confused, but his expression, no that isn't right. It was everything about him. It all changed. The appearance of a sociopathic youth who had lost his family had changed into the appearance of something twisted between both light and dark.

"Before we talk, let me ask, is anyone else watching us?" Odin's voice seemed to fluctuate in tone from a dark meaning tone to a cheerful one.

"Only me, the system, and the readers, but that it." the guardian replied.

"Ok, now let me tell you this before you ask whatever it is you want my mind and soul are fucked I only have 1% of my memories and experience it has also been only 2 years since I woke up so right now I am two people ore more to say the kid you know is a full person and I'm like a third of one so for I don't know how long best estimate 10 more years I'll be like this till I fully combine with the kid and become Odin again." Odin said the world seemed to distort at times the temperature became unbearably hot and other times cold, the quiet world became unbearably loud and deathly silent the next.

"No wonder but it still fits you, doesn't it?" the guardian chuckled.

"Ok, well, seeing as you have little of your memory, then let me explain why you made the system, but before that you know why you're on earth, right?" the guardian asked.

"Yes, to relax for a few centuries before going off to the next hell hole." Odin replied.

"Ok, so like how long ago system?"

[62,376 years ago]

"Ok so 62 thousand years ago back in the world of Asmiko the world that is inhabited by succubus you decided to make your time on earth fun by making a system and having it send you on a small quest as you can tell you put all the dysfunctional universes and had the system choose one that you would save and well it's 40k which is easy considering you put prime earth during the final age." the guardian altered the world and a table appeared between the two.

"Naturally, the plan was supposed to start five years ago, but you altered it or more like past you or future you? you know what it was you we're fucking omnipresent so we fuck ourselves over all the time but that's not the point because of that mess we kinda altered the arrival time and it seems also earth as it has martial arts and what not." the Guardian snapped his fingers and two tea cups appeared filled with a red liquid.

"Now I thought nothing would affect you so I didn't bother but after we arrived, I noticed differences like you being shocked by the system, not knowing the history of prime earth, your armor and weapons didn't even affect you, your arrogance your disconnection with humanity like how in the first place as there isn't any other human your the only one the rest are subspecies of the extinct humans." the guardian paused and took a drink from the cup.

"But the three main points were one your fighting style even if you hide it that essence of trillions of dead universes is still visible to other Odin's but when I saw you fight, it was like watching a fighter and not a killer, second was your personality even if you hide it you follow the same rules no matter what but this time you didn't your family was murdered right yet you didn't destroy the continent for revenge no you were like Batman and sat in your own sorrow acting like you wanted revenge when you didn't do anything to get said revenge." the guardian said as he refilled his cup.

"The last point was something very, very, and I mean very important, and that was your battle with that inferior lizard that tried to act as a dragon! Dragons are our greatest creations equal to that of our sons and daughters yet you didn't even get irritated at how it acted not even a soul flicker or anything something insulting you is a huge offense like you didn't even start going on a speech about stolen valor or whatever." the guardian said as he rubbed his temples.

"Dragons must never be disrespected. They protect the universe and if a little lizard that's not even the size of a supercluster is going to pretend to be one, then it should be erased with all of its offspring." Odin said as he broke the teacup handle, which immediately repaired itself.

"There we go that's more like you so I guess I can make a deal with you I can fix the problem or we can keep going this path what's your choice?" the guardian said as he placed the cup down and looked at Odin seriously even if the helmet covered his face Odin could still see his expressions.

"Maybe this is a new path for now I know I am not the creator not the butcher of universes just Odin the young adult that wants 'revenge' the little boy who can't kill even if others say he has killed what he did is only moved the process forward I bet the star of Arinak that the moment he had to end the life of not just 1 billion adults but also children and young beast cubs he won't be able to do it the boy can't kill he's just too damm good which is a shame no matter what good is destined to lose against evil it always walks in the shadow of evil." Odin said as the world returned to normal.

The shop was empty except for Odin and the guardian.

"You still there?" the Guardian asked.

"Yeah, I'm just tired," Odin said his body, and his voice seemed to not match. It was like they placed the mouth of someone else on his body.

"I can supply you energy if you want?" the guardian said.

"No, not that tired after living for so long from the beginning to the end over and over it becomes draining as they say immortals don't die from normal way they die by forgetting themselves because of the insanity that has consumed their soul and minds from the infinite time they have lived." Odin said.

"Though I say I still remember when I was young when I said to my wife I wanted to live forever with her it seems part of it was answered and you can guess which one was but then again I doubt fate could do that considering she is my daughter hehe." Odin's voice grew weak

Odin fell down out cold. The guardian sighed before he turned to mist.

"Why can you sleep but I can't I bet the world of dreams is so soothing yet I have to be in the world of the waking I to want to forget this and fall into eternal slumber yet I'm forced to keep going it's quite unfair no wonder most of our soul shards keep offing themselves." the guardian said as the shoo returned to silence.
