Wen Yu cleared his throat. "What?"
"Big bro Yu do you need anything?" Qi San asked and Huo Lan nodded along.
Wen Yu: '...' Big bro Yu?
"Big bro Yu?" A childish voice came from behind them and Fu Beiyong walked in swinging his short arms. He gave Qi San a strange look.
"Did I miss something? I thought you disliked each other?"
"BAH! What dislike?" Qi San's round face puffed up indignantly. "Don't go about slandering other people! Big bro Yu and I are so close, how could we dislike each other?"
'...' Wen Yu rubbed his brows. He was too embarrassed to look at Qi San. This was truly a world where the strong ruled, just look at this kid!
Huo Lan raised his chin, trying to imitate the look of a sage again. "Fu Beiyong, you have to watch what you say. Just because you have a mouth doesn't mean you should run it however you please."
Qi San: '...' Okay it's my fault.
Fu Beiyong ignored them both and climbed up the ladder to his bed. "Hey all of you. I heard some interesting gossip on my stroll do you want to hear it?"
Wen Yu grit his teeth. Gossip again?!
"Okay!" Huo Lan hopped excitedly and Qi San's ears perked.
Fu Beiyong lowered his voice like he was about to be caught saying bad words. "It's about senior Shi."
The other boys exchanged looks and frowned. "What about senior Shi?" Qi San asked hesitantly.
Apparently, Shi Anjing was an illegitimate child of the Shi family which was the family of another one of the four great Marshals, Shi Haochen.
He was the supreme commander of the Eastern Army of the Yang Federation and also one of the Federation's ULD Mecha operators in the Crystallized god level zone.
With such an impressive background, it was unthinkable that the cadets in Lingxiu Academy would treat Shi Anjing like trash but they did so and here was the reason why:
Although Marshal Shi was an admired hero in the Federation, there was another thing he was known for and that was his love for beauties.
If Marshal Shi were to beat his chest and declare that he'd slept with half the population of women in the Federation, no one would doubt him. He was an unrelenting stud.
The one thing that spread alongside the tales of his conquests were his seeds. He had leagues of illegitimate children that he refused to acknowledge and while that behaviour was frowned upon and should be punished by military law,
Everything was conveniently swept under the carpet because he was a ULD Mecha operator. Shi Anjing was one of those unfortunate children that were discarded until it was discovered that he had SSS rank spirit potential.
Even if the Federation turned a blind eye to Shi Haochen's excesses, they would never neglect a child with SSS rank spirit potential.
Marshal Shi had three legitimate children, Two males and a female, with the oldest being forty-five and the youngest being thirty. None of them had potential as good as Shi Anjing. So Marshal Shi was tempted and took him home.
How could Marshal Shi's legitimate wife and children be satisfied with this?
As a person who was knowledgeable in the ways of the elite circle, Wen Yu knew all too well what kind of problems this would cost.
Shi Anjing's mother was reported dead one month after he was taken from her. It was reported as suicide but they were certain mysteries surrounding the case that seemed suspicious.
Three year old Shi Anjing was taken away from his mother to an unfamiliar environment and then lost his mother right after. His mental state was frail and he became increasingly introverted.
Even then, he was still clear headed and surprised the people around him with his amazing assimilation talent, the boy was a true genius!
Certain mishaps started occurring which led the marshal to send him off to Lingxiu Academy a year early at the age of four. This proved to be a mistake.
During his final assessment, an accident occurred which almost cost him his life. Shi Anjing survived but not without consequences.
He suffered a damage to his brain which affected his cognitive ability. Most times he was clear headed and other times he took more time than normal to comprehend a single sentence.
This directly affected his assimilation. At first, he could struggle and advance but when he got to the Turquoise Phase, things became too difficult for him.
Mental stability was an important part of spirit energy advancement. No matter how talented a person was, he or she still has to achieve enlightenment in order to advance. For a person who was mentally unstable, this was pure torture.
It was already good enough that Shi Anjing never suffered a qi deviation when he tried to assimilate, asking for more was greedy.
The one part that made the boys clench their fists was when investigations were carried out and it was discovered that Marshal Shi's eldest had a hand in the ordeal.
Someone who was already in the army sending sneak attacks to a four year old because he felt threatened. What bullsh**t!
After all was said and done the Shi eldest was given a really light punishment and set free. On one hand was an SS ranked Advanced Mecha operator and on the other hand was a now mentally disabled SSS ranked kid. The Federation chose the former.
At first Marshal Shi still visited Shi Anjing in the Academy or sometimes sent for him to come home but soon enough, he got bored and gave up. Shi Anjing was fourteen and basically abandoned in Lingxiu Academy with no future prospects.
BANG!
Qi San directly smashed a table with his meaty paws. "How could they?!"
"Wuwuwu... Senior Shi is too pitiful..." Huo Lan directly burst out crying.
Wen Yu tapped his forehead with his little palm. Shi Anjing was truly too pitiful but this might be him in the future if he couldn't get strong enough.
He had to look for a way to become strong! Only the strong had capital to live a peaceful life in this world.
