After the humans repopulated a different planet in another planetary system, a different war broke out. A civil war which led to the splitting of the human race into six different Federations.
The Yang Federation, Auster Federation, Min Federation, Afriq Federation, Fang Federation and Euro Federation.
The Yang Federation, the mother Federation, decided to grant their wishes but those other Federations wanted more than to just split. Each wanted ultimate power so they developed their own forces.
It ended in disappointment as the different Federations were all well matched and no one had an edge over the other. It was in the midst of this deadlock that the Yang Federation invented the Mecha.
The first generation Mechas were cumbersome and a tad slow but they provided adequate defense against the spirit energy of the Spirit masters so its flaws were overlooked.
This led to a new age being the age of Mechas and other Federations quickly adapted to this new invention that combined technology with spirit energy.
After years of constant pruning, the Mechas became what they were today, a kind of gamma metallic full body nano armour that could be activated at any time since it was micro compressed into metallic vambraces that was worn by all Mecha operators.
The mechanism was similar to the Iron man suit from his former world but bigger, faster and generally more ferocious.
Another difference was that instead of using brain computers to translate EEG signals to the armour in order to control it, spirit energy was directly used.
That was why people with spirit potential below the B rank were prone to implode when in or around a Mecha. The amount of spirit energy needed for Mecha piloting was not small and the armour constantly absorbed spirit energy from its operator.
There were five classes of Mecha: The Primary Mecha, Intermediate Mecha, Advanced Mecha, Ultra Mecha and the Ultimate Law Defying Mecha, generally referred to as the ULD Mecha.
The lowest threshhold to become a Mecha operator was the B rank spirit potential which automatically affords one the most basic amount of spirit energy required to operate a Primary Mecha.
To operate a ULD Mecha, a person must have SSS rank spirit potential and must have achieved, at least, the pseudo Crystallized god level zone.
Such harsh requirements, it was no wonder the Yang Federation had only four ULD Mecha operators out of the tens of billions of people inhabiting her various Planets.
His father, Xie Zhang Wei, was the fifth Yang Federation ULD Mecha operator and also the youngest, making the Yang Federation the strongest powerhouse out of all the Federations.
It was a pity he died too soon and now the Fang Federation was a bit better. The Fang Federation had five ULD Mecha operators and the only reason it was described as being only a bit better than the Yang Federation was because one of her Operators was really old, almost three hundred and fifty years old and already in retirement.
The Yang Federation was still cautious because even if the operator was in retirement, he would surely step out when his Federation was attacked and the power of a Crystallized god level, ULD Mecha operator was nothing to be sneezed at.
They could directly wipe out thriving planets with a single shot! How terrifying!
Even when his father died, two major and three minor planets belonging to the military stronghold had been lost from the explosion! People paid little mind to it because those five planets were under the jurisdiction of one of the traitors and only had troops hidden in them for invasion.
The death of Xie Zhang Wei was a sore spot for the Yang Federation and he was sure the people at the top had countless sleepless nights grinding their teeth in heartache. Their lax supervision had led to the loss of one of the Federation's shiniest beacons to ever exist!
He had been an exceptional soldier and a capable Supreme commander. How else would his troops have been recognized as the best out of all the army? Even the people of the other five Federations acknowledged his might!
He was also the first in history to achieve the pseudo Crystallized god level phase and operate a ULD Mecha before the age of one hundred. He was only forty five! What amazing talent.
Just thinking about the infinite possibilities for his growth caused their teeth to ache. The other ULD Mecha operators were well over one hundred and fifty years before they achieved enlightenment. His advancement could have aided the research on spirit potential and brought them to new heights!
His death also threw the common people and spirit masters alike into a frenzy and their cries could be heard billions of light years away. He'd been the role model of many.
Xie Zhang Wei's burial had been exceptionally grand and the complete sixty seven major planets of the Yang Federation all observed a public holiday of one month to offer incense to the departed hero.
The four great Marshals had also attended. These four were the Yang Federation's ULD Mecha operators and had come to send off a junior. His father would have been the fifth great Marshal if only he'd lived for a while longer.
But how could the old geezers let in a man who had the backing of the common people and boundless potential to be powerful enough to threaten their own power?
It was impossible. Wen Yu remembered the forlorn feeling he felt when he saw his father's image on a frame while watching the recap of the burial on his light brain.
It would've been nice to officially meet such a remarkable man.
Wen Fei Fei did not attend the burial though, she was pregnant with him and was in denial then. Even now, when she acted strong and composed, he was certain that she hadn't come to terms with her husband's death.
She cried herself to sleep on certain days when she thought no one could hear her. It caused his heart to ache whenever he thought about it.
He finally stopped all his musings when an attendant walked into the artificial garden to get them.
