Chapter 20 - Chapter 20 - Rhys Griffin

Rhys Griffin was the eldest grandson of the Griffin family.

He was not only the pride of his family but also of The Empire.

Since a very young age he started showing his talent and was trained by his father Sol Griffin, the current Battle Master, personally. Strict masters produce outstanding talent is true, because under his father's training he became one of the youngest enforcers in The Empire.

After entering The Battle School he found his calling and started to shine even more.

Rhys always knew he was different than others.

When out in the field he had an inkling of what was going to happen, not only that he could also see or sense the danger ahead and then solve it before a catastrophe happened or anyone died. He could look at person and know that person's true heart, and wether he was telling the truth or not. He was a walking lie detecter. It was one of the reasons he was a good interrogator.

Rhys never told anyone what he could see or sense, because he didn't want to bring trouble to himself. When asked how did he know, he always blamed it on his talent or instincts. That way he avoided many troubles and hate.

His talents made him a loner until he went to Battle School and found his own people he could trust.

Now here he was and this little girl in front of him was someone he could not read. Even though he couldn't, he sensed that he could trust her.

What was even more different was the surge of strange power he felt as soon as he looked at the girl. He has never felt that way before and it made him only more curious about her.

After going home he was going to meditate to find where the power came from.

Dark black hair that had been neatly cut hang over a full, lively face. Big round hazel black eyes, set a-symmetrically within their sockets. They compliment her dimples and showed a cute youth fullness on her that was infectious.

It showed a beautiful young girl who was still growing. He knew that in a few years that this young girl would turn into one of the most beautiful women in The Empire.

There's something fascinating about her, perhaps it's her presence or perhaps it's simply her lively eyes that give a feeling of joy. But nonetheless, you feel comfortable and want to know her better.

There was a long awkward silence while everyone was watching Maeisha and Rhys stare at each other.

Lorcan was jealous.

'Why the hell was his sister staring at Rhys in such admiration. Yeah he was one of the stars The Empire was watching but so was her brother. She could stare at him! He could even show her some of his martial moves!!'

Lorcan broke the silence, "Leader what are you doing here?"

"Why? I can't come to your house to meet you or your family." Rhys didn't know why but he felt a little defensive over the way Lorcan was questioning him.

"Ungrateful man. We are being good friends coming to introduce ourselves to your sister and here you are being greedy and not letting us have fun together."

Before Rhys could say anything their friend Cade Falcon angrily butt in.

Lorcan was speechless at their shamelessness. Seriously they could have just given him a warning before barging in on his fun day with HIS sister. He didn't want to share his sister with anyone. Even his closet friends.

Maei was laughing looking at them argue between themselves. She had never seen her eldest brother at a loss in the family and here he was completely speechless in front of his friends.

When Maei looked up her eyes caught Rhys's, who was looking at her laughing at his brother.

She choked mid laugh and started coughing.

His brother stopped arguing with his friends and started to pat her back anxiously.

"Are you okay baby girl?" He asked.

Before she could answer him a glass of water appeared in front of her. She followed the hands holding the glass and looked up to see violet eyes twinkling at her.

"You should be careful when you laugh."

Rhys's friends were shocked to see their leader teasing Maei.

'Has the sun rose from the west today?'

Maei was shocked.

'What the heck? Why was he teasing her? Do we know each other well enough to do that?' Maeisha thought disgruntled at him.

But she was a polite baby.

She took the glass of water from him and drank it to calm herself down before thanking him.

Rhys was amused and thought that she was an interesting little thing.....
