In the arcade they were slammed with the sounds of machines dininging and voices shouting. There were balls rolling and bottles falling. The metal ball in an arcade bouncing from side to side causing multiple points to rack up on the game.
But all Maeisha could see was Rhys as he picked up the gun. Ever since she had laid eyes on him she felt a strange pull towards him. It was making her increasingly curious about him.
The moment he picked up the gun, his temperament switched entirely, as if transforming into another person. One could instantly tell that he was no amateur from the way he held the laser gun.
Maei and everyone hushed and stood behind him to watch him shoot.
The moment the game started his shooting skills left her shocked.
He might have looked that he was shooting easily, but his skills were definitely something out of this world. At the early stages of the game, his superb skills weren't apparent as the game was still easy.
When the balloons started appearing faster and faster on the screen, he could still land his shots on the balloons that carried the most points without hitting any of the black balloons coming in between to disturb the players.
His scores were rising steadily. Left in shock, she looked that he had surpassed the best score, and he still had half a minute left to complete the game.
Right until the end, the balloons appearing on the screen became so fast that it almost faded into a blur. It was at that moment she saw something even more shocking.
His shooting speed increased even more and he was shooting a balloon every second. They couldn't even see when he shot and when the balloon was taken down.
All they could see was his score rising fast!!
Soon the game started to play a loud medley.
People gathered to see who was new high scorer for the shooting game.
Upon seeing the win, the attendant of the arcade carried the fox and approached him.
With the white fox in hand Rhys approached Maei and gave it to her.
Maeisha silently raised her hands and took the fox from him, still in shock of his skills.
Rhys was pleased to see her looking at him with worshiping eyes.
Lorcan was jealous as he was the one who wanted to gift Maei with the fox but Rhys overshadowed him.
'The bastard wants to steal his sister!! Why not go to his mother and ask her to give him one rather than stealing his!!'
"Baby girl lets go play something else since you have already gotten the fox."
He also wanted his sister to look at him with worshipping eyes. He glared at Rhys before pulling his sister away.
Rhys turned to see Paul and Cade challenge each other in bowling, before following them again.
"Oh, you bet!"
The challenge from Cade to show off his skills was not taken lightly.
Paul scanned his band in to the game and eight balls rolled into place for him to roll and attempt to get points with.
"Lowest scorer buys next game?" Cade set the challenge and it was easily accepted.
This may not have been a game that would win a prize in but it was a game they could have fun with and try to beat the other in.
"You two don't know what you are getting in to. I have mastered the fifty point spot."
Sky effortlessly rolled a ball and it perfectly fell in to the fifty point spot off the ramp.
It was easily the most picture perfect roll the two had ever seen..
"That's beginner stuff." Cade said.
Cade and Paul gave each other devilish looks and threw their first balls in unison.
The rolling started on one side and crossed over just in time to hit the ramp and perfectly sink in to the hundred point slots.
"Like Cade said. Beginner stuff."
Paul and Cade both picked up two balls. One in each hand and they started playing, While Sky was left all alone.
Later when they were all done playing games they went to get a bite to eat.
Overall things were going pretty great.
Sadly, as always, it had to come to an end. Dusk was falling, and the evening sky was forecast with a tinge of orange light.
This was the first time that she had such a great experience.
They went out to have fun and there wasn't any people trying to kill each other or people antagonising each other just for the sake of giving people a hard time.
She looked around him.
She had great elder brothers and good people around him.
Families and couples were either having food or playing around him.
For the first time in his life Maeisha felt that she had come home.
She was never as peaceful and happy as she was today.
Seeing her with teary eyes Lorcan and everyone panicked.
"Something wrong baby girl? Are you ok?"
She looked up and saw everyone watching her with concern in their eyes.
"Sincerely, Thank you everyone for giving me the best day of my life. I know you are my brother's friends but thank you for spending the day with me and giving the best time I have ever had. I have never felt so happy before." She said gratefully to everyone in a soft voice.
Lorcan and his friends were surprised and patted her head with affection and fondness in their eyes.
At first they had only come to give Lorcan a little face and because they were curious about her. Now they truly like this cute girl who was polite and with lively eyes.
Rhys looked at the little girl laughing with others and thought that he wouldn't mind having such quiet days more often...
