Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 - Leaving 2

No matter how anxious Maeisha was, the Demaris Family arrived soon. They were still driving the black car. It seemed they had cleaned the car overnight, because the car was shining brightly under the sun as it was before entering the village. Everyone could see that it was a high-class car.

Mama lena and she got in the back of the car with Mama Brianna while Papa Owen sat in the front with the driver. The Steward was staying behind to tie up any loose ends or rather a nice way of saying that he was covertly taking revenge on the village head and his son. (Author : Go papa!!)

The car was extremely quiet. Mrs. Demaris tried to talk to her several times. But she could hardly speak when she was so nervous. She hadn't been with her daughter for ten years. She didn't know her likes and dislikes or wether she was ok with everything that had happened in the last two days.

She was such a little thing when she was born just 6 pounds. Everybody was scared in the house to have little girl in the house, but mostly everyone was happy to have a little girl to pamper. The Demaris family had a lot of sons but only a couple of girls. As such every girl in the family were loved.

Now though she had her back it will take long for her to become close to her baby girl. Since the past few years all she could think about was wether she okay, had she eaten anything wether she was safe. She was truly thankful to God that even though they took her baby girl from her they didn't let any harm come to her and was instead with Mama Lena who raised her with the love she couldn't give her.

Maei turned her head and looked at the road ahead. She found the car was gradually leaving the small path behind and started to travel on a wide road. She was a little nervous as this was the first time she was sitting in a car and she had no idea how an artifact like this worked.

Mrs. Demaris noticing her nervousness started to tell her about her family members. She introduced to her along the way, "You have two older brothers. Both of them are several years older than you. Both are studying at the Dageraad Academy. Its the best academy in the capital. When you arrive we will finish your school enrolment and they will go to school together with you. You don't have to worry when you are having them by your side."

Ever since knowing that Maeisha was found, everyone in the family became very happy, especially those two sons. The younger son was naughty and left many troubles to his older brother. Therefore, the big son wanted his young sister to be a good girl. The second son also wanted to become an older brother of someone else. Before she was found, both of them would always have her photos in their hands and kept asking for their younger sister every day.

This time, Maeisha was finally found. If they hadn't gone to school today, they would have certainly visited the village in person.

"Older brothers?" Maei repeated.

"Yes, your older brothers. Your eldest brother's name is Lorcan and your second eldest brother's name is Cian."

She thought for a moment and then said, "Will they really protect me?"

In her past life she would always wish that she had someone who could protect her and stop the people from the sect to bully her. She became a loner and would practice alone everyday. Until she became strong people would ignore her, which made her become socially awkward with everyone.

But now hearing that she had elder brothers made her have that same longing again, even though she was already an adult (her soul).

"Of course." Mama Brianna touched her head gently and lovingly.

"Not only will they protect you, but you also have me and your other family members." said Papa Owen.

No one else would ever have the chance to take their baby girl away from them or harm her.

Helena smiled then hesitantly said "Mrs. Demaris you..."

Brianna interrupted her and corrected her with a gentle smile "Please call me Brianna. There shouldn't be such formalities between family."

Owen also said "Please don't feel like an outsider. You are our baby girl's saviour and her Godmother."

Helena smiled again and said sadly "The village has children tested for Martial aptitude and Maei showed none."

Papa and Mama Demaris were stunned. In their family most everyone was tested positive for Martial Talent. Those who weren't Handled their family business. After all a family couldn't survive on Martial Talent only.

Papa Demaris then thought about it and said "We will have her tested once more when we reach home. All Top families in the capital have their own testing alter stone. We have one as well. The one in the village is of the lowest quality and we shouldn't believe the result."

Looking at her in the eye he said "Its ok even if you don't have any Martial Talent. You could be the next heir to the business side of the family and live freely. Having Martial Talent does not define your place in the family. Being a Demaris does."

Maei's heart warmed at her father's words. She could not believe that she was so lucky after having died in her previous life. She had a loving father, two mothers and two elder brothers who would always love and protect her no matter what.

But she would still practice cultivation and martial spirit. She had people she wanted to protect and she could only do that if she had the strength to do so....
