Seeing Maeisha looking at Lorcan with worshiping eyes Cian felt jealous and bitter.
'Another one who falls for his gentleness. No he had to teach his sister later that he was a wolf in sheep clothes. He had to be careful from him otherwise she was going to be his training partner.' He thought.
"Ok ok. Now get aside." Grandpa Demaris said impatiently to everyone, and then said gently to her. "Come here little one."
Maei got up and went Grandpa Demaris's side.
In front of him she bowed gracefully and called out "Grandpa!"
Grandpa Demaris was gratified that though she had been raised in a village outside she was gentle, sweet and polite.
"Good girl. All these years you have suffered." Grandpa demaris said gently and sadly. After all he could imagine why she was being so mature. She was afraid that she would not be liked if she did not behave politely. He would rather that Maei act spoiled to him. His darling girl should be living a pampered life instead of trying to please him.
Grandma nudged grandpa's foot away from everyone's eyes.
Grandpa suppressed his sadness and took Maeisha into his arms and told her his thoughts.
"You don't need to worry about what everyone is thinking of you nor do you need to behave politely in front of everyone. You are our family's little baby. We all love you and want you to live peacefully and happily. So don't think too much and live how you want to. NO one will stop you from doing what you want or force you to do anything." Grandpa declared in front of all family and servants.
Maei was his Alfan's granddaughter and his darling. No one had the right to force her to do anything she didn't want to do. His darling would live the life of the only young lady of the main Demaris House.
Maei understood what her grandfather was doing. He was giving her the status of the youngest daughter in front of the servants so that no will bully her later. He was giving her his protection. She felt the warmth and love of a family.
Thinking of this she once again thought that she was very lucky to be reborn in this family.
Surrounded by her family and their love and concern for her she only said, "Thank you."
Because everyone understood that no other words were needed.
After all the introductions were over and the laughing and crying, Papa Owen brought up the subject of her Talent Aptitude.
Papa Owen did not say that she was tested before just that she needed to be tested.
Grandfather thought about it and said, "Ok. We will do it tomorrow morning in the Ancestral Hall. We also have the upgraded Talent Stone that can tell us her aptitude in Support Talent. That way Maei can plan her future more appropriately."
Maei was confused and asked, "Whats a Support Talent?"
Grandfather replied, "Support talent is what a person has beside his Martial Spirit i.e. Formations Pills,Medicine, Artefacts etc.. Some people are talented in Martial Arts and other are talented in Support . Knowing what a person is more talented in they can concentrate on that rather than wasting his time researching."
Maei was surprised the people here invented something so advanced. There was no such thing in her previous world.
But she was also troubled. In her previous life when one entered a sect they had to learn everything before choosing their specialisation. That was one of the reasons Niall was a God Pill Alchemist and was proficient in medicine and Artefacts.
Seeing her troubled expression Lorcan told her, "Don't worry about having Martial Spirit or not. NO ONE will think less of you."
Maei smiled and said, "Elder brother I am not worried about Martial Spirit since I have already formed it. I am worried about my support talent."
Lorcan was a little absentminded as he heard his sister call him elder brother and smile at him with her cute dimples.
'His sister called him elder brother and smiled at him.'
As for Everyone else they were surprised, especially Papa Owen and both her mothers, because the village head had told them that she had no Martial Spirit Aptitude.
Papa Owen then asked her, "Maei the village head told us that...."
She had already thought about what to say.
She knew that she had to give them a proper explanation about the Martial Technique she practiced and why she had no Martial Spirit when the village chief tested her. She also had to explain about why she had so many precious things, herbs and prescriptions.
She decided to put everything on her Shadow Master and tell them everything, except that the bracelet was not a space but a spatial artefact.
She didn't for one moment think they would secretly take what belonged to her. She trusted them completely even though she had just met them.
Maei asked, "Father could we all please talk in private."
Upon hearing this Grandpa took everyone into the study and then closed the room before activating the silence rune on the door.
After everyone was seated Maei began her story, "Father a few days before the testing when I was wandering in the mountains for food, I accidentally met an old man in the forest who was resting on a stone. The old man was wearing robes made of white that sparkled in the sun and had long white hair, but I couldn't see his face clearly as if it was constantly changing."
Everyone was first saddened that at such a small age their baby had to go foraging for food but then they sat up and, listened quietly because that was a face transforming technique that only high level warriors could do.
"The old man then said that he was waiting for me there as I was his Destined Disciple and that it was time for me to walk my path."
If before everyone was listening quietly then now they were so excited that they only wished for Maei to finish her story, so they could confirm their hypothesis.
This was because a Destined Disciple was someone who got all the life experiences of their master. They were their master's last disciple but what made the difference was the word DESTINED.
Destined meant that Maei's master knew about her when he was calculating the stars. Which meant that his master was proficient in calculating, reading stars and had knowledge of their future.
There were very few people who were proficient in it and were old monsters in seclusion.
This would explain their excitement. If Maei's master was one of them, they wouldn't have to worry about her talent or her future. Her Master would make sure that she had a good future.
Seeing their excitement she continued, "After that he had me take a Black pill. As soon as I took the pill I felt so much pain that I fainted. When I woke up he told me to come and meet him there everyday. So for the next few days I would go there and Master would teach me the fundamentals of Martial Spirit and Pills Refinement."
"He told me that my Martial Spirit is special and not expose my spiritual energy in front of anyone easily. He also taught me how disguise my spiritual energy. On the day of testing he had me put the disguised energy inside the stone so that it would show that I have no talent. The day I fell into the pond was actually the last day I saw my Master. He gave me a Bracelet."
Maei showed everyone the nondescript bracelet in her hand. It was a simple silver bracelet with strange patterns.
She continued, "Father what I am about to say can't go outside this room because my master told me that only my family should know otherwise I will be in danger. I only now understand what he meant after meeting all of you since I only had Mama Lena in my family. My Master told me that the bracelet is a Spatial Artefact."
Everyone gasped!!
"He told me that the bracelet is bound to me and I will be its master. Inside the bracelet is the Martial Technique he developed for me, Pill Books and other books to learn from. He told me that he was leaving and had given me what I needed to learn for the moment. He will come see me again when he comes back from where he needs to go. He also told me that in the future if someone wants to learn from his books I first have to make sure he is trustworthy and that they wouldn't betray me in the future."
"When village head's son saw my bracelet he wanted it and when I said that I wouldn't give it to him he pushed me into the pond. When dad and moms were talking in the car I didn't say anything because I wanted to tell everyone privately. The rest you already know." She finished.
After Maeisha finished her story everyone in the room didn't move and were still. They didn't know where to start.
Maeisha had given them so many surprises!!!!
They maintained a gentle and worldly disposition in front of their baby, while they were screaming inside.
'Ahhhh!!! Their baby girl is soooo Good.'
Then their expressions became fierce.
They needed to make sure that their baby girl was always protected so that no one could steal her!!!(* ̄m ̄) Especially some shameless pig who could pluck away their cabbage someday!!!
No one was going to hurt Their baby girl!!!
Grandfather Alfan calmed everyone down and then said, "Maei never tell anyone else what you told us. Even you all!! Listen to me!! Not ONE word should go outside this room especially you Cian."
Cian was furious at being singled out, "Grandfather I am not an idiot. I wouldn't want anything to happen to my sister because of me."
Maeisha also nodded, "Hmmm. Elder brothers are good."
Both Lorcan and Cian were happy that their younger brother trusted them so much and decided to treat him even better.
Lorcan and Cian exchanged a glance to talk later.
Grandpa Alfan was amused and pinched her little nose. "Little imp."
Everyone smiled at their antics and felt anticipation for the days to come.....
