Her eyes were bloodshot and the loud, constant hammer of her heart against her chest rang in her ears. She tried to open her mouth to say something, but instead only soft sobs escaped her throat. Her lips quivered as she fretted on the floor.
"Speak now!" Her papa's voice thundered, startling her out of her wits. She could not look directly into her father's eyes. "Don't make me repeat myself again, Lavina. You know me too well not to trifle with me." He warned her.
Terrified of her father, she rushed towards him and knelt in front of him, clasping her palms together. "Forgive me, Papa. Please listen to me. Dorgarag is a nice guy and he truly loves me, Papa. I can introduce you to him. Please, I love him Papa." She sobbed. Hot tears streamed down her cheeks.Out of desperation, she hugged her father's knees together and dug her face into his thighs, begging him to give their relationship a chance to prove their love for each other.
