Her eyes shot open, their wetness making her blink twice to clear her hazy vision.

Was this a dream too?

A groan escaped his lips yet she couldn't let out a single gasp when his eyes fluttered open and traveled straight toward her.

Time didn't stop.

But the whole universe did.

She watched as his dark orbs traveled down her face and then to her shirt which was still torn from the ends.

The way his eyes slightly narrowed down when a tear unwillingly escaped her lashes and fell down like a drop in the vast ocean.

"Get out of here!" he hissed and she flinched, not because of the tone of his voice but the helplessness it held.

He sounded afraid.

Not for him, but for her.

"Who did this to you?" she asked and her eyes enlarged at the sight of his cuts closing down quickly, one by one, as if they were never there in the first place.

But the bigger ones remained just like they were previously, worsening with the weather and making his blood freeze as her fire continued to ward the snow off.

"It doesn't matter-"

"Tell me-"

"It's a trap." he finally managed to speak out, yet his voice was low. "I'll defend myself but you can't-"

Lies.

He wasn't okay.

Fuck that, he couldn't stand up straight without crumbling back down.

But all her worries and doubts vanished away into the background as the fire inside her roared to life.

They had hurt him...

Theo was hurt. They had hurt him. Targeted him. And now… Now…

It was not hot anger that poured through her.

But something ancient, and frozen, and so vicious that it honed her focus into razor-sharpness.

SCREECH!

The shrill cry broke the peace and serenity of the forest yet her eyes remained cold and rigid still.

Unbothered.

Unmoving.

And suddenly the ground trembled as if a hundred angry bulls were trampling on it, straight in her direction. Theo was behind her so she didn't need to worry about him getting hurt.

The only one in pain...

Was going to be them.

And suddenly two men appeared in front of her, giving her no time to react.

"Ah I see," the bigger one drawled out and Eva felt like punching his jaw until all his teeth broke out and fell. "We hit the jackpot."

"Princess." the other one spoke, not an inch of respect or awe in his voice.

Just plain vulgarity and debauchery.

She almost shuddered as an adrenaline rush crossed her body and her chaos crackled on her fingertips, aching to be released.

Seeing that the girl didn't reply, they cast a look behind her and caught sight of the fallen King. The sight gave them immense pleasure but they couldn't let themselves get distracted.

They had already received thorough instructions. See the girl? Grab her and do the necessary stuff to keep her mouth shut.

See the King? Beat him until he loses his last breath.

With that quite easy-looking plan in their heads, the muscular one of the two stepped forward with the intention to beat the shit out of the King.

Eva let herself smile.

Underestimating her might be the reason they die today.

Just as the man raised his hand to push her sideways and deal with the rest later, he felt the life being squeezed out of his hand. Only years of training made him control the scream that threatened to break out of him.

His eyes traveled to the small hand that held him in a grip that felt like tens of burly men had grabbed it at the same time. Tom's widened orbs then traveled to the man behind her who was staring at the scene with a dazed look.

"..."

Who is this girl?!

He tried to yank his hand away when a screech sounded in the whole forest and his companion, George, almost stumbled back at the sight in front of him.

The petite-looking angel was twisting his boss's arm as if it was dough and not a structure of bones and flesh. Fuck, even he hadn't managed to defeat his master and here this little woman was doing it without batting an eyelash.

If somebody glanced into her eyes, it looked like she was enjoying his screams.

Euphoria glittered in her glossy ocean eyes and George couldn't help but swallow at the sight.

"Help me, for fuck's sake!" Tom screamed at him and he instantly walked forward, awaking from his brief reverie, his hand reaching for the girl's neck to make her pass out for the time being.

Eva smirked, the light in her eyes going dull. "Wrong move."

Throwing the leader backward, she ignored the thud that sounded in the whole forest when his head hit the sharp rock lying on the ground.

George stumbled a few steps back, a shiver running down his spine at the impassive stare she was passing him. Was this the same girl that was described as nothing but little?

Maybe this wasn't the woman they were looking for, he thought but then the silver locks gave away that doubt.

How had she suddenly become so powerful?

He had only blinked his eyes when he glanced down at his neck and his orbs almost popped out.

A pale white hand had wrapped around his chubby neck as his hands came to shove her off somehow. It was a futile try since her grip was iron hard, and he didn't have the ability to bend steel.

Eva felt something similar to ecstasy travel down her mind and when she tightened her hold on his neck, she had never felt so high before.

Only he had made her feel this way until now...

She continued to increase her grasp, oblivious to the fact that the man's face was turning blue and purple as she continued to squeeze the life out of him as if he was just a squishy toy.

And just like in all her dances, she swirled around twice, her grip still firm, and then she tossed him into a nearby tree with the force of a hundred elephants altogether.

George's back hit the tree and he collapsed, the bark cracking in places as the entire tree fell on him a few seconds later.
