Chapter 70 - Everything

Leon breathed out.

Inhale.

Exhale.

He had never needed to calm himself, being a demon meant that he could kill anyone to vent out his frustration. But entering the King's study right now was a challenge that he wasn't ready for.

Twisting open the knock, he stepped inside but didn't close the door behind him. If he felt that the King was too dangerous, he would need some way to escape, to get out before the King accidentally murdered him too.

His brown eyes widened as he surveyed the mess the King had started around the study. It was as if he had created his own personal Hell in the room.

Chaos.

Darkness.

Shadow.

The room was filled with it.

The desk was turned over and the chairs were broken up into pieces which lay around scattered. A small mirror that usually hung on the wall was shattered as if somebody had punched it with his full force. The curtains were closed and some were torn apart with claw marks covering each inch of the walls.

Theodore was leaning against a wall, his eyes fixed on a shelf. Leon shifted his head to look at what he was staring at. It was a small origami bird that he had seen people sell in shops and he wondered why the King was gazing at it so intently.

"We still haven't found her, Your Majesty," he spoke aloud, and wondered if the King would even manage to kill him. Theo looked... empty. As if all his powers and stamina had been drained off of him. After searching Eva for more than twenty-four hours, he had come here and ordered the others to continue their search.

Leon hadn't known that he would trash the place in his anger but it made sense. There was no other way he could release his frustration anywhere else other than Hell which would take too much time.

"Send out the army. Make them search every nook and cranny of Salvador. Under trees and behind each bush on the land. Meanwhile, I'll go and pay a short visit to Vermont. Seems like Isabella is missing me." the King spoke in his deep voice and smiled. It sent a shiver running down Leon's spine and he bowed, hesitantly turning away and departing to inform the military of the King's orders.

It was obvious how much the King was willing to go for the lady. He was ordering the army which was trained to battle against millions of soldiers to search for a single girl he loved. Leon was sure that the King didn't even know that he loved her and wondered if the others knew about his misery. Theodore didn't seem to have told them and neither could Leon unless the King ordered him to do so.

Meanwhile, back in his study, as soon he heard the door snap shut in front of him, Theo slid down to the floor in a heap of chaos. Dark smoke leaked out of him as he let his darkness take over his body. When was the last time he had felt so helpless?

A long, long time ago with his mother and father's dead body right before him.

He still remembered the blood clearly. It had stained his hands and after a few years, he had gotten used to seeing it on his hands. It didn't matter that much anymore.

A part of him kept on indicating that he should let his demon take over but he still wanted to wait. Standing up, he looked out the window and pushed it open. Jumping out, he landed on the ground perfectly and let out a contained growl. If he didn't find her before tonight, then sure.

He would happily let his Devil take over and find her for him.

As he walked along the gardens, he let his wings out and cracked his neck. Saving Eva had been a total accident, and meeting her was a coincidence. He didn't know what he felt for her. Why? Because he had never experienced that strong emotion called love ever in his life for a woman who kept on getting kidnapped day after day.

She made his worst parts show. If anybody looked at her in a bad way, his demon fought to be let out and tear the person apart. He hadn't felt so protective of someone in decades and didn't know how to control being so possessive.

As his wings started flapping, his feet abandoned the land and took to the sky. He went higher and higher and didn't stop until he could see an overview of the castle. He could easily sniff her scent if only he got closer to her location. Not only that, but he could've made a small bond with her to know where she was at all times but Theo had thought that his barriers would hold. Only someone such as a powerful creature could have broken through the barriers and that left only two suspects out in the open.

It was either Isabella or Asher and he couldn't wait to tear their eyes out from their sockets if it was either one of them. Isabella hadn't interfered with him for many decades and he wondered why she would now. The evidence mainly pointed towards Asher and Theodore automatically changed his direction to his Kingdom.

After he was sure that it was Asher, he would search every inch of his castle to find her. And if it wasn't Asher, Isabella's neck would soon be in his hands and torn apart the next second.

And all this because of a girl, he thought to himself in disbelief and shook his head.

No, not just a girl.

It was Birdie and therefore, different.

She was the one who felt like an adrenaline rush.

She felt like flying.

She felt like cigarettes.

She felt like strawberries.

She felt like rain.

She felt like a storm.

She felt like a challenge.

She felt like a breath of fresh air.

She felt like music.

She felt like an origami bird.

She felt like everything he's ever wanted in life...
