I stayed by his side while the healers worked on him. Just like the strange man had said, his wounds refused to heal. The color from his injuries had taken a purple shade with foul smells emanating from it.
"Is there no way you can work faster?" I asked impatiently as Ramul grazed his hand lightly over my shoulder. "I just want..."
I couldn't say anything more without breaking down. Seeing him on the table weak and bleeding gave me so much pain that I couldn't think of anything else but him. His hands in mine, his smile directed towards me with half closed eyes, I prayed for this to not be the end.
"He's almost out of the woods but not yet," the physician announced with his three apprentices using their powers to help speed up his healing process.
