Pointing the sword to my face, he narrowed his eyes piercing mine with a dark, cold stare.

"That won't be necessary," the King said sheathing his sword with an amused look on his face. "For someone who just got her powers, you really didn't change from your past self."
That last statement was directed towards me. He knew who I was which meant that he would also know the consequences of killing a Primordial vampire. I banked on that knowledge alone as I could see through his veil of mystery.
