Princess Lucinda slammed the closet door shut, clothes were scattered all over the carpeted floor. So many to pick and choose from but nothing seemed the right fit for such a momentous occasion.
A forest green velvet dress poked out from beneath another pile of clothes that she had tossed to the side. She went over and picked it up because it evoked a fond memory. She had been wearing that green dress the first time she met Juval.
It was too small for her to wear today or Lucinda would have worn it to remind Juval of the fond times between them. She was still tempted to try it and when she heard that ripping sound as she struggled to get inside the dress she threw it away in disgust.
That time her other brother had been alive and used to send her gifts all the time. Princess Lucinda would make sure to receive the flowers, chocolates, perfumes and other small favors in front of Prince Juval so he would be eaten with jealousy and it worked.
