Beth sat at the high stool and next sat the man she joined and she was yet to know his name.
"You never told me your name," he was now visible to her face and damn he was a hot man in his mid-thirties. Long hair that was held in a ponytail making his face look livelier but she was disappointed because he looked younger than her.
"Neither did you," he took his two drinks from the bartender handing one to her.
"Well…I'm Zuko," He placed his drink on the table so to greet her.
"I'm_" but before she could introduce herself she was pulled aside by Justin and had to leave. She mouthed sorry to Zuko and left.
"What do you think you're doing?" He pushed her in an empty room and locked. She looked at the locked door feeling uncomfortable she had lived with this man for years and she knew him like the back of her hand and he was a dangerous man.
"We can always have this conversation out this room,"
"What you scared or something… Don't spoil the fun we both know why we came to the club, so we can have fun," he raised his hands and Beth made a mistake to flinch because this made him sure that she was still scared of him and this gave him access to beat the sit out of her.
Raising his stupid hand to slap her for talking with another man only to be stopped midway by Beth,
"Listen here, I'm no longer that stupid and sacred woman you marred ages ago, try to lay a hand on me and I'll teach you how to behave."
To be honest she was so scared that she shook but refused to show him. She walked passed him slowly hoping for the best and managed to walk out then did she realize the breath that she held.
Walking back to where Zuko was but he had already left,
"He left you this." The barrister gave her a small paper consisted of his number. This was not the time to thinks about her abusive ex it was her time to glow.
"Hello… how far are you…"
Joan sat on her bed after a warm shower, she felt great and more comfortable under her skin. She took her phone and looked at the missed call that her mom had missed and threw her phone back at her bed.
She walked to her small kitchen and decided to treat her stomach with some simple food. While waiting for her noodles to cook she connected her Bluetooth speaker with some good music and treated her small body to a dance.
Moving her body to all directions, while dancing to the rhythm of the song. (Not your Barbie girl)
