ACE POV:
The darts came flying towards me, and then...!
I closed my eyes expecting to feel some pain.
I couldn't feel any.
I opened my eyes. I looked up. The darts stopped just right before the strike.
I was shocked.
Just then, she started laughing. The whole hall joined her.
"Didn't feel a thing?".
I was confused.
"According to your plan, my dart was supposed to pierce your hands, you could bleed. Then, it will nullify the spell, huh?".
'How did she know about that? But I didn't....?'.
"...Tell anybody?".
'She was TELEPATHIC?'.
"Yes, my boy. I am".
I was so screwed. I didn't have the slightest clue.
There was no need asking the rest details, but she still found it necessary to.
"According to your damned descent, I suspected that you'll try to escape. So, I set a perfect trap. So, I used an illusion spell to follow you".
I bent my head low.
"You know, you were foolish enough to discuss your plans just because you were alone. So sad and pathetic".
"So, you're gonna kill me then?".
"Not yet. But before that, I'll tell you a story".
"Long ago, there was a young man and a young woman. The woman was a powerful young witch and the man, an equally powerful druid. They fought a lot because of their descent.
One day, during a huge fight, they were both injured. They were too weak to call for help. They called a truce so as to survive.
They soon found out that they were not what was portrayed of them.
Soon after, they became good friends and later lovers.
But, their clans won't accept their relationship. They were forced to either separate or be banished forever.
They broke off all ties with each other, although still longing for the comfort of the other's embrace.
Soon, the druid-master made a pact with another clan to wipe out that of the young woman's.
Fearing possible dangers, he came beforehand to warn the young woman of the possible dangers.
But he was too late. The attack started much quicker than expected.
He tried to fend off the whole army, but one against a multitude wasn't a fair match.
He was badly injured. He used the last of his essence to save his lover and her family, damning him to be unable to regenerate another lifetime.
The woman and her family was safe but her clan was wiped out.
She had a daughter for her lover.
But fate was still so cruel to her.
Her daughter died many years later in the same fight.
She then stopped accepting fate.
She decided to fight it.
She vowed to take revenge on all who caused her pain.".
She wiped a tear from her eye.
"That druid-master was Merlin, and that young woman was ME!!!".
