Chapter 20 - AN UNDISCOVERED REALM IV

ACE POV:

"Who's Jonathan?" I asked.

"Jonathan Andrews, the leader of your Council of Druids, you don't know him?".

I looked away and tried to conceal the fact.

She stared at me intently.

"You don't? Seriously?".

"I wasn't introduced properly to them" I tried to justify myself.

"And what? They'll just appear and introduce themselves to you, is that so?".

I looked away in discomforting embarrassment.

"I wonder how you're the pure-blood".

I turned to her sharply.

"Hey, that's rude".

"Oh I'm sorry. Did I hurt you?" she said sarcastically.

She pouted in a sulking manner, making most of her comrades to burst out laughing.

"You have no right to mock me".

"Whatever, just get out of here. Go to your beautiful Divars city".

She turned to her men.

"Out in five".

"Yes, sensei".

Surprisingly, every of her men lifted a warthog like a piece of paperwork.

I held her hand from behind.

"I just...".

*SWOOSH*

In a split second, I found myself rammed into a tree. She clenched my neck so tight that my veins almost popped out of my head.

"No touching. You understand?".

Despite her insane strength and emotionally empty eyes, she still looked beautiful to behold.

She threw me to the ground effortlessly.

I held my neck and inhaled air like I had never done before.

I felt my neck was stone cold after contact with her.

Soon, the temperature normalized.

"I just wanted to say thank you, before you almost choked the life out of me".

"Well, you're welcome. Happy?".

"Why are you so angry and resentful?".

"I'm not angry or resentful, I'm treating you like every trespasser is supposed to be treated".

"What are you guys anyway?".

"What do you mean by that?".

"Your kind looks human but aren't, you are insanely strong and fast, you have pale and stone cold skin, emotionless eyes and expressions...".

"Cut the detective bullshit. What's your best guess?".

"All the dots connects to...!".

I let out an intense gasp.

"You....you're a....VAMPIRE!".

"Welcome to the moment!".

"You're not so bird-brained like the rest, after all".

"Hey. I'm still here"

"It wasn't meant otherwise".

Once again, I felt elated to have discovered that vampires truly exist!

"But I thought you guys were non existent, only in folktales".

"Well, here we are!".

"And you suck blood, from humans".

"Partially true".

She started walking away.

I ran after her but she was destructively fast.

I struggled to keep the pace.

"Keep up the pace, pure-blood" she said, as if mocking me.

"Speed is not my forte".

I finally caught up to her.

I was out of breath.

"How...do... you...mean?".

"We...well, we...we...are...of...a... different...species..., so to speak".

She was obviously mocking me.

Her men burst out laughing again.

I ignored them completely.

"A different species? How?".

"We are adapted to eat flesh, alongside blood".

"Raw?" I asked both in horror and curiosity.

"No, ewww. We're not blood witches".

"Blood witches exist too?".

"Argh, you bore me with your questions".

"I didn't quite catch your name" I asked, trying a doppelganger as an Oxford gentleman.

"Well, I didn't throw it, my dear gentleman".

The others burst out laughing again. Even the little girl let out a slight chuckle.

I looked away in embarrassment. I looked behind me. All the men behind bundled up a quezz like a sack of feathers.

It then dawned on me; Jula's been left behind!

It was injured and defenseless!

"We have to go back now!".

"And why is that?".

"Jula's been left behind".

"You mean the cauldez?".

"Yes".

Just then, a loud groan shook the forest.

It was Jula's!

"You have to help me, please".

"The forest is too dangerous. If you go back there, you're on your own".

I couldn't just leave it there to die.

"Fine!" I yelled.

I ran back to where I thought I came from.

I realized that I didn't know how I got here.

I heard the groan again. It was accompanied by howling.

"Follow the sounds" I unconsciously said to myself.

I rushed back to where Jula was. It was surrounded by a pack of wolves.

Such sizes of wolves was never seen by me in my life, ever.

I ran into their midst. I tried to protect Jula.

"Stay back" I said in a desperate bid to scare them off.

*HOWL*

The pack parted for a new arrival. It was a big brown wolf. It looked intently at me with it's glowing eyes.

It looked to the sky.

*HOWL*

All the members crouched down, looking ready to attack!
