lovely clouds were seen from jane's room window it seemed to be a pleasant day she kept singing watercolour eyes by Lana del Rey and realised it was almost time for her to show up at the amusement park
she took her purse and ordered a cab for herself
since Riley himself invited her today she was very excited that it'll only be two of them she was strong she'd endure all the harsh remarks about herself because there was a person she could rely on without any sense of fear of being betrayed she kept thinking about what went so wrong in her life it was true she kept hanging onto the past but could she heal if there was no one to heal her
little did she know she was falling deeper into that pitch darkness she wished to escape, paying the taxi driver she kept waiting for Riley sitting on the bench all alone she felt a lump in her throat when the hour passed but Riley didn't appear
her mood was getting gloomy alongside the weather soon it started to rain and she realized she left her umbrella at home
looking at the Ferris wheel in front of her
she kept strolling down the street back towards her house not because she couldn't book a cab but because she was so much immersed in pain she didn't realise she reached home
upon entering she saw her mother and father all dressed up elegantly "what is she even doing she is all wet didn't you tell her we arranged a party at home today?" his father asked her mother side-eyeing her from head to toe
"oh, honey so sorry I forgot to let her know well we don't want her to come downstairs anyway,
right?"
"Are you mad" spoke her father in annoyance
"don't you know all my colleagues know that I have a daughter what do you want to show them instead of jane huh?" he spoke slightly raising his voice at his wife
"a daughter they never even tried talking to"
she mumbled while stepping up the stairs
closing the door of her room she walked by the window where the lovely cloud has turned ugly and black "maybe this is my life" she spoke while tears dropped from her eyes
her mother suddenly barged into her room with a light blue floral gown "fresh up and wear this and don't forget to wear makeup" she spoke and left without seeing the daughter who is sobbing by the window
she wiped her tears harshly and went to the washroom to change her dress she came out and looked at herself in the mirror she had grown weaker both mentally and physically
"if they knew what they said would go straight to my head what would they say instead," she asked her reflection in the mirror, putting on make-up to hide the dark circles under her eyes she walked outside grabbing the attention of some people, these people reminded her that how lucky she was to be born in such a loving family all she did was a smile but there was only sadness in her heart until she saw Eric sitting on a chair at her dads home bar but he was not alone he was here along with his parents
she was enraged with him but was powerless, her mom came from behind and took her hand and moved towards greeting several people and finally went towards Eric's family her toddler sister came running towards jane "I missed you jane" she spoke while hugging one of her legs
before she could react her mother picked the toddler up and greeted the family
Eric's parent's greeted them Lovingly unaware of the harm he caused jane
he kept his head low to avoid jane
jane excused herself to the washroom but went to her room instead now that she had greeted the guest her mother won't trouble her anymore
in all the chaos she suddenly thought about Riley and decided to text him. but there was no reply she gave up and went down towards the main hall where her parents were cutting the cake in celebration of revenue from business
the next day at school was even worse Riley was present but he stayed away from jane
jane was deeply disturbed and couldn't contemplate why Riley was acting this way
When Aria got to know about the party at janes house and the fact her boyfriend attended it led her to create even more fuss from passing comments on janes character to throwing dirt upon her she did it all
completely ruining her mentally, but she didn't stop and did the worst jane could ever comprehend she started a rumour that jane slept with Riley on the prom night on which they both didn't even show up, many believed her because Leila was the cousin of Riley and she told everyone that she was the eye witness
it didn't only affect jane but also Riley was a victim of Aria's allegations, jane tried to attempt suicide because it was getting too much to hold she tried jumping out of the building but a school worker saw her and called her parents her parents reached in no time and took her away with them, they locked her up in a room where there was no sharp object and no window and no fan the treatment continued for five days until she got the news that Riley had committed suicide
it enamelled athe first time in five days her parents heard her voice she was crying while banging on the door
"looks like she is sick of staying in a room now" her mother spoke with opening the door she saw jane in a condition she never thought she would
jane kept hitting herself with her almost bleeding hands "what happened jane" her mother asked panicked by her daughter's condition
jane started to run outside towards Riley's house her mother kept running behind her until they reached a house where people were leaving dressed in black
jane ran inside and saw Riley's casket where he lay lifeless she began to weep loudly sitting beside it "why did you leave me alone Riley, why?!" she screamed gaining the attention of others present at the funeral
" Are you jane?" someone spoke behind her it was Riley's brother jane nodded her head slightly
" I found these in his room it was meant for you I guess," she took the box full of letters and wept for the meantime attending his funeral she went back to her house and locked her room while her mother narrated what happened to her father
