Chapter 34 - ABDUCTION

After placing the stone in another bag, Scythe said, "I know someone who can offer you more than the price of this stone in exchange for your pupil, Adam."

"Who?" asked Mr. Moore. "I'll tell you later, but for now, I want to know about Adam's whereabouts," said Scythe. Moore led him to Adam's room, but Adam was not there, (having left to confront trapped Zede in a chamber at a distant location upon Darby's call.) "I don't know; he's been locked himself for the past two days," Moore explained.

"Two days, I see," Scythe remarked. As they looked out the window, they heard an explosion in the distance. "What was that?" asked Scythe.

Moore turned on the television. "Hello, viewers, this is Jeremy from the Daily Globe. Cosmic Man is here to save people in this area, as some of the menacers in the city have caused an explosion. One of them is out now," reported Jeremy, running after seeing the monstrous form of Adam. Moore and Scythe also saw Adam's monstrous form on TV, as well as his defeat at the hands of Cosmic Man's Gravi Ursa attack. (happened in chapter 31)

"Was that Adam?" Scythe was taken aback. "We need to hurry," Moore said. "Savior Society's people can arrest them anytime before their move, so we need to go there."

"Marin, have you seen it?" Scythe called Marin. "The black bull user, right? Yes, I'm heading there," Marin replied.

Scythe made room for Moore in his vehicle, and they headed towards the hotspot. They observed the battle's hotspot from Scythe's invisible vehicle. "See, there's a chopper from the Savior Society. I think Adam is in that chopper," Scythe said, rapidly approaching and flying alongside the chopper.

"When will she arrive?" Scythe trailed the chopper until Marin arrived. "Oh, here she is. Come inside," Scythe instructed her over the phone. He opened the vehicle's upper window and allowed Marin to enter, then descended himself and seized one of the chopper's blades, causing it to crash.

Mr. Moore was shocked by Scythe's power. Scythe entered the chopper.

"Who are you? You'd better surrender," a henchman of Kylan pointed a gun at Scythe. "I'm really impressed with your courage," Scythe laughed ferociously and swiftly took the henchman's life by crushing his neck with his fist.

"Anyone else?" Scythe glanced back at the other henchmen, who, dedicated to their work, attempted to shoot him with even deadlier weapons. One of them secretly ran out and called Aayam.

"Sir, this is Squad K02. Our chopper crashed, and a gruesome-looking man entered and killed one of the squad members. He took them out of our custody," the henchman said, blood dribbling from his mouth. Moore's tail pierced the bodies of the henchmen one by one.

"I'm finally happy to see your tail," Scythe remarked. Marin, witnessing the blood streaming from the bodies, yelled, "How could you? Do you even know why my father didn't directly attack Earth? He wanted everyone to be safe. You've killed so many people, and I didn't realize humans are this fragile. Otherwise, I would never have considered helping you."

"Let me explain, little lady. They are but a small sacrifice in the enormous task of defeating Diemos," Scythe said in a softer tone. "So you want us to defeat him by standing over a pile of dead bodies? What is this 'sacrifice' you speak of? Sacrifice is something you're willing to lose for the sake of everyone."

As Scythe approached Marin with open eyes, he could anticipate her impending questions. "Oh, little lady, please get some rest. Did I mention that this man is my friend? No, I will inquire about those matters as well."

Scythe bowed and said, "Please forgive me, little lady, and don't tell your father about this incident," looking into her eyes with a dampened expression.

Damion peered out from Marin's long-collared coat, and using Damion's MANA manipulation powers, she created a translucent purple colored platform and flew away with Adam's unconscious body.

"Phew," Scythe sighed in relief. "Why did you change your stance by 180 degrees?" Moore inquired. "Add another 180 degrees, and I'm back where I started. But in our cockpit above, you'll be asked about the book," Scythe explained. "Book? Which book?" Moore remained perplexed.

"The book you used to create this black bull. Where is it?" Scythe continued. "For your information, I am not the one who created these bulls. I was approached by a scientist named Sky to find a test subject for his experiment. But why do you need that book and Adam?" Moore questioned.

"Because all of this belongs to us. Lord Godwin will explain everything to you himself," Scythe concluded.

"By the way, I tricked Marin so she would keep quiet. A little drama was needed for that," Scythe added. "But where is the scientist who approached you for his experiments?" Scythe inquired.

"I don't know if he is alive or not," Moore replied. "This will really complicate matters," Scythe said as he settled into his vehicle to return to the capsule, which would take them back to space.
