Dahlia paced around her room in the midnight hour, wondering why she felt so restless. Her cat, Dora, entered the room, mirroring her owner's unease. Dora found a cozy spot in the corner and settled down to sleep. Meanwhile, Dahlia's phone chimed. "It's time," Dahlia said and put on her costume. After covering a few miles above the buildings, she reached the balcony of Zede's apartment.
Zede was snoring at that time, but in the middle of the night, when Zede woke up due to his uncomfortable sleeping position, he saw a pitch-black figure standing on his room's balcony, staring at him. He went near it. That figure came close and kissed him.
"I waited for you all day. Where were you, Dahlia?" he asked. "I... I was confused about the gift..." "Gift? So, do you have it now? Gimme," "Zede, I want to make this day memorable. I want to give this gift somewhere else, somewhere special," said Dahlia. "Oh, really?" Zede had a mature smile on his face. He woke up Diego and asked him to make Hover Thrust Boots. "Huh, at this hour? Oh hi, Dahlia," Diego looked at both of them and created boots and a suit for Zede. Zede put on his mask. "Come on, Dahlia." "On your back?" "Yes, sure. It'll be a fun ride."
After that, they flew away into the air, where a cold breeze was flowing, and stars were twinkling. "Woohoo! Thank you, Dahlia, for being my friend," Zede said loudly as they hovered. Dahlia blushed. Zede and Dahlia sat on a roof and looked up. "Why did you wait for me all day, Zede?" Dahlia asked.
"Something inside me was telling to believe you." said Zede "What if I would not be able to match your expectations?" Dahlia enquired "I am thinking about why you are asking this?" Zede hovered again with Dahlia.
"This place is perfect, Zede," they both landed on a tall tower beside a narrow street. "So, you are making me more excited about the gift. What is it?" "Not that special, Zede. It's just a mask; you can use it in your missions," Dahlia revealed, producing the same white mask that Zede was wearing.
"Thanks a lot, Dahlia!" Zede exclaimed as he took the mask. In his excitement, Zede hugged Dahlia. During their embrace, the mask slipped from Zede's hand. Then Zede used his Hovering boots and took it midair and wore it. "Look at me, Dahlia, does it look good on me?"
Suddenly Dahlia's expression changed, and she hopped down to the narrow street. Zede also followed her. "Hey, Dahlia, how does it look?" he asked again.
"It looks deadly, my friend." A male voice came from behind. Zede turned around and saw Adam and Darby there, but this time, their friend Simon was also with them in his own metal suit.
"What are you doing here, Adam?" "You should ask your girlfriend first, Zede. With whom you were hovering in the sky," Adam laughed at him. "What is he talking about, Dahlia? Are you still with them?" "What should she say, Zede? She is the one who took you here to get killed." "Stop this nonsense, Adam, I am asking her something, can't you see?" "Zede, listen to me, he forced me to do so," said Dahlia.
"And you were thinking that Dahlia loves you? What a joke." "Stop it, Adam. Tell me what you have done to her, otherwise, this time I'll kill you for sure." Adam and his friends laughed again at Zede. Zede jumped and tried to shoot them but missed. "Oh wait! Here is a twist, Zede. You are the one who is going to be killed by me, and your life is on my fingertips," said Adam. "I think you are out of your senses, Adam, that's why you are saying those odd things. How is my life on your fingertips?" asked Zede.
"Zede, the beloved gift your so-called girlfriend gave to you has an explosive in it, and when I'll press the button I'm holding, you will die right after," Adam laughed. Zede touched his mask. "There is no use, Zede, this'll only come out with your skin. Simon created a masterpiece explosive." Adam was giving off a really dark vibe; his smile and laugh were able to make anyone lose their confidence. But Zede was not losing his cool.
And Diego on Zede's shoulder was sweating. "How are we going to deal with it? I don't want to die with you," said Diego. "Adam, you told me that you will not harm Zede. Didn't you call him just to warn him?" said Dahlia. "So I was wrong; you developed some feeling for him, didn't you?" Adam came close and pressed Dahlia's face. Zede again went for another attack and hit Adam. "Do you still think you can beat me in this condition?" Adam picked up Zede's mask, which was lying down. "I am thinking to give this mask to your girlfriend, as a memento of your friendship," Adam passed the mask to Dahlia.
"Stop, Dahlia, don't touch it." Zede shot some power balls towards Adam. When Zede was going to take that mask, Adam pressed the button, and the mask in Dahlia's hands exploded. "DAHLIAAAA!" Adam and Zede shouted in the same tone. An explosion that was enough to kill her. Zede and Adam were mourning for her. "How... how could it be possible? How did the real mask and the explosive one switch places?" said Darby. "How, tell me." Simon in his metal suit tried to attack Zede, but some powerful arms grabbed him and turned his laser's trajectory.
It was Paige. She saw Zede in a helpless position. "She died, she died because of me, because of me…" Paige looked at Diego on his shoulder. "Don't care about him; he's like this every time. But how did you come here?" said Diego to Paige. "I'll explain my powers later; aside from introductions, we need to save and support Zede."
After that, people on both sides stopped and took both of the mourning doves with them.
