Writer's POV
" Please tell me I'm dreaming." Charming yelled at her parents at the dining area.
She had passed out last night out of shock. Unfortunately for her, her supposed dream turned out to be reality. She was really getting married to the most arrogant man in the world.
" What's wrong hunny? Don't you like him?" Mrs Hutz asked her daughter.
" What sort of question is that mum? If I did I wouldn't be shouting." Charming yelled at her mom.
" Well, I was like that with you're father and I actually did like him. Maybe you're just too shy." Her mom said smiling as she spread mayonnaise on her bread.
" Dad common I need a hand." Charming said, turning to face her father.
" Look hunny, I'm sorry we couldn't tell you this earlier but common Tristan's a good guy. He's the right guy for you." Mr Hutz said to his daughter.
" I don't like him mum, I don't want him." Charming lamented.
" Do you have any reasons?" Both parents asked their daughter.
" He's arrogant and rude, bossy and insultive." Charming listed out.
Mr and Mrs Hutz only turned to look at each other before bursting out in laughter; " Seriously?"
" Yes, do you think I would lie against someone?" Charming couldn't believe her parents couldn't believe her.
" I don't think it's a good thing to lie against a man as gentle as Tristan." Mrs Hutz said to her daughter.
" What?!" Charming couldn't believe her ears.
" His parents are not any of what you listed. I have known the Ashton's even before you were born; they hold moral values in high esteem." Mr Hutz informed his daughter, gesticulating as he spoke.
" I know right? I mean where could he possibly get any of the characters you listed from?" Mrs Hutz agreed to her husband's words.
" Are you being serious?!" Charming yelled.
"Tomika aren't you even gonna say anything? " Charming said, causing all attention to fall on her friend.
" I really don't know what to say Charm." Tomika's reply only made Charming storm out of the dining room angrily.
" Do you think she'd be okay?" Tomika asked both parents.
" Yeah." Was the only reply Mr Hutz could give.
" She'd be fine." Mrs Hutz contributed.
The couple stood up simultaneously, smiling at each other before leaving Tomika; " Bye Tommy, Bye Tom."
" Have a nice trip you both." She replied.
" Yeah, enjoy you're stay Tom." They responded with faded voices.
" This is one weird family." Tomika said to herself before going to check on her friend.
Tristan on the other hand had not spoken to his parents ever since the announcement at the party.
'Why the fuck would they do that? They could have taken our considerations first' he kept on thinking.
He just ignored the smiling faces he received when he arrived at the office. Apart from his father's famous wine company, he had his own furniture making company to take care of. Every minute of the day, Tristan was taking care of one business or another.
He finally got to his office which was at the Pinnacle of the skyscraper which was in the middle of the city.
Punching the unlock code on the buttons of his office's security lock, the door automatically opened. Tristan was welcomed by a huge flood of packages.
" What the?" He muttered to himself.
He picked up one of the numerous notes on the glass floor and read it out loud;
" Congratulations on you're engagement sir. Wishing you the best of luck with you're pretty bride.
Sincerely yours.
Malcolm."
" What the fuck is this?" Tristan yelled out loud.
He managed to get to his landline and placed a call through to his secretary.
" Good morning sir. What can I..." She wasn't even done with her greetings when Tristan interrupted her.
" My office, now!" He roared through the phone.
" Yes sir." She replied shakingly.
As Theresa walked into the office, she noticed the numerous presents that were scattered all over the floor. Immediately, she began regretting ever allowing the employees into Tristan's office.
" Good morning sir." She greeted Tristan who was behind his desk, on his chair.
" What is good about the morning Theresa?" He asked her calmly.
" S..Sir...I" Theresa stammered, frightened by her boss' calm gesture.
" What the fuck is good about the morning Theresa?! I want words." Tristan suddenly yelled.
Without letting her put her words together, he yelled again; " how the fuck did this much gifts get into my office huhn? You're the only one who knows the code to unlocking my office!!!!"
" I'm so sorry sir. The other employees just wanted to congratulate you on your engagement so I..." Theresa was already crying by now.
"Who the fuck told you that I was engaged? Who?! " Tristan yelled.
"I'm sorry sir. " Theresa pleaded.
" There's no need to be sorry Theresa. You're fired." Tristan said calmly as he pushed his hair to the back.
"Sir?" Theresa wasn't sure of what she heard.
" You had responsibilities one of which was to not letting u welcomed guests into my office but you blew it. Get your irresponsible ass out of my office." Tristan instructed as he got on his seat.
" Please sir, I'm sorry. I promise I'd never let this repeat itself. I swear on my mother's grave sir." Theresa pleaded as she got on her knees.
Tears gushed out of her eyes like a waterfall.
" Don't make me call the security guards Theresa. Leave." Tristan warned deadly.
Slowly, Theresa got to her feet and made for the door. On her way out, she bumped into Patrick; Tristan's best friend.
" Is Tristan in? Oh my God what happened to you?" Patrick asked a crying Theresa.
" I...I..I.." Theresa could only stutter.
" Hey, come here. It's okay, it's fine." Patrick consoled Theresa with a hug.
" You know what? Just wait for me at you're desk. I'd drop you off." Patrick said to Theresa who only nodded.
He had taken only a step further before turning back to call out to Theresa; " One more thing Theresa."
" Please put a smile on. You look more beautiful with it." He said and somehow, she managed to smile.
" That's my girl."
Patrick walked to Tristan's office and walled in without getting invited.
" This is a business environment Patrick, not your personal lounge." Tristan said to Patrick as he angrily punched the buttons of his computer.
" Oh yeah? Well, today's a working day, not a make a girl cry day." Patrick said as he say carefreely on the visitor's couch.
" What the fuck is that supposed to mean?" Tristan asked pissed off.
" What did you do to Theresa?" Patrick asked his friend.
" I fired her." Tristan said without remorse.
" What?! Why?" Patrick suddenly got to his feet.
" Why not?" Tristan wasn't bothered.
" She has been you're secretary since you set up this place. How could you possibly lay her off like that?"
Tristan handed over the note to Patrick; " Read this"
" So, you're getting married aren't you?"
" I am not!"
"You're parents said so. "
" They're not gonna tell me how to live my life."
" Chill man, they just want a better life for you."
" Having a wife will not give me a better life."
" No but having a free pussy to fuck will huhn." Patrick said to Tristan, raising his brows playfully.
" Fuck away."
" Common man. Okay, when was the last time you saw a naked body let alone handled it?"
"I don't need that. " Tristan grimaced.
" Look, maybe you should give this marriage a shot. If it works out, you owe you're parents a big thank you." Patrick said, returning back to the couch.
"And if it doesn't? "
" You're free to leave."
