" Good morning Charm." Patrick greeted Charming, beaming with smiles.
"Good morning sir. Sure you had a lovely night. " Charming replied her boss.
" Trust me Charm, you have no idea how blissful my night was." Patrick said to Charming.
" Weird." Charming muttered under her breath.
"I heard that! " Patrick yelled as he walked to his office.
"Oh my Goodness. " Charming was embarrassed.
Patrick had employed Charming as the new receptionist. Formerly, he had wanted to employ her as his secretary of person assistant but she had to gain some years of experience.
Normally, he wouldn't care but sometimes policemen came for investigation in his company and Tristan's too. Because of their wealth, they were always suspected by the police officers. So, in case the officers came in for their regular investigations, his company wouldn't be shut down for employing inexperienced staffs.
Charming was enjoying every minute of her time at work. She had been working for only three days and she was already beginning to feel different.
"I love having a job. "Charming would always say to herself especially during her lunch break.
She didn't have any new friend yet but at least no one had bullied her or gotten into a fight with her. She complained about this to Tomika who advised her to try talking to people.
Since she was still a new employee, the others might not want to associate with her because they weren't familiar. Tomika advised Charming to get familiar with the other employees.
"It wouldn't hurt to make the first move Charm. " Tomika had told Charming the previous night.
Stepping into the lunch room, Charming let go of a breath she didn't know she was holding. She sited a guy sitting alone so she decided to approach him. She really found it hard to communicate with other people except her parents, Tomika and of course, her extroverted boss; Patrick.
" It's not compulsory you have everyone as your friend as a matter of fact, it's impossible to have everyone as your friend. You can start with one."Tomika's words rang in Charming's ears.
"You can start with one. " She repeated.
Walking over to the guy, she found out he was actually blonde and not brown haired; "Hi, can I sit here? " Charming's palms were surprisingly sweaty.
' Put yourself together Charming, he's just a guy, no you're crush' Charming said at the back of her head.
"Sure. " Was his only reply.
Minutes passed, the guy and Charming ate in silence. Looking around to find the other groups of people chat happily, Charming began regretting her decision of sitting with whoever this guy sitting in front of her was.
"I have never seen you before. " He finally spoke up.
Charming almost forgot she wasn't sitting alone: "Oh yeah, uhhm, I'm new. "
Again, she was nervous.
"Really? I'm new too. Not so new but three months old still sounds new to me." The guy said, chuckling nervously.
"Are you kidding me. I was called the new kid in middle school for a whole term. " Charming said, going with the flow of their conversation.
"Wow really?! Did no one really get admitted into the school after you? " The guy asked, feeling free.
"No. "Charming said.
" I'm Jeremy." Jeremy introduced himself to Charming with a handshake.
" Charming." Charming replied, receiving the handshake, smiling.
"So how long have you been here? " The guy asked.
"Three days only ." Charming replied as she munched on her burger.
"Wow! Just three days and you're already the boss' favourite. That's pretty cool if you ask me. " Jeremy said munching on his own chips.
"What do you mean? " Charming was baffled by his utterence.
"You seriously don't know? "
"Know about what? "
"There's a rumour going around about you being Mr Patrick's favourite. I really thought you knew, sorry about that. " Jeremy apologized sincerely.
" Yeah." Charming said in-between gritted teeth.
"I know what you're thinking. I'm actually not like that. "
"What do you mean by that? "
"I'm not a rumour monger. I just thought you should know about it. I'm sorry. "
"It's fine. Thanks for the heads-up. " Charming was beginning to like Jeremy.
They continued eating in silence untill Jeremy spoke up again.
"Charm? If I may. "
"You most certainly may. " Charming replied him with the same enthusiasm with which he had called her.
"I know this is quite sudden but if you're free tonight can we... "
Charming cut it in Jeremy's words; " See the dancing Princess with you yes! "
"Woah! Slow down pretty. I was going to say go for dinner but that sounds fun too."
"Oh, it's fine if you want us to go for dinner. I mean I don't wanna cook tonight so. "
"No, it's absolutely okay if you want us to see the dancing Princess. It sounds pretty cool. "
"You sure? "
Charming didn't want to be rude but Jeremy had made up his mind to see the movie with her.
"Where should we meet? " Charming asked Jeremy after they were both done with their meals.
"Actually, I think I would rather have us leave from work. Once I'm home it becomes impossible to leave again. "
"That's actually true and smart. "
"Thank you. " Jeremy said as he bowed dramatically.
"Okay then see you at six. " Charming said as she walked back to her post.
"Six it is pretty. " Jeremy replied as he made his way to his own pose.
