Writer's POV
" Dyna na na na na na na na ei." Charming sang out loud as she made her way upstairs to her room.
" Wow! Someone must be very happy. I can't believe you're the girl from last night." Tomika teased Charming.
"Really funny. " Charming frowned.
"I'm sorry okay. Geez, you get so angry so quickly. " Tomika apologised.
"Anyways, I already made up my mind to be happy tonight and nothing's gonna spoil it. " Charming said as she threw her bag to the bed.
"I'm guessing someone.... "
Charming interrupted Tomika before she finishes her sentence; "I got the job!!!! "
"Oh my God! I'm super happy for you girlfriend. " Tomika smiled as she hugged Charming.
"Thanks a lot Tom. I owe this to your. "
"Common, you don't have to say that. "
"Wow! I never knew getting a job could be so exciting. " Charming felt on top of the world.
"Okay then. What are you waiting for? Call you're parents and tell them about it." Tomika advised Charming.
" Not yet."
" What? Why? Isn't this what you wanted?" Tomika was shocked.
"No, I want my freedom from the cursed life they want for me. " Charming corrected.
" But this is the key right? Why won't you tell them then?"
"They won't believe me and even if they do, they'd think I wouldn't last enough so they won't take me seriously. "
"What are you talking about? "
"I'm gonna tell them when I get my first salary. "
"You're seriously ready to wait that long? A whole month! What if the wedding takes place before then? "
"Relax Tom. There's no way in hell that's gonna happen. There's no way the Ashtons would get me married to their arrogant son in my parents's absence. "
"But what if.... "
"And even if my parents consent to it, I'd look for a way to delay the marriage. "
"Are you sure about this? "
"I am. " Charming smirked.
Patrick on the other hand couldn't contain the joy in him. He had to visit his father at the hospital so he invited Tristan to fill in for him. After all, he was an even more experienced business tycoon than he was.
Knowing the kind of person his friend was, he was damn sure he had made a lot of applicants cry. Patrick counted himself lucky that he got to interview his friends soon to be bride himself.
He doesn't even want to think of what would have happened if Tristan had gotten to interview Charming. Anyways, this is gonna be his opportunity to get to know Charming better. That way, he could easily hook them up without stress.
"#Tristing. " He laughed at his mentally drawn out plans.
At the Ashtons
"Welcome son. " Mr Ashton greeted his son who didn't even bother to reply his father's greetings.
" Are you still mad about you're engagement?" Mr Ashton asked his son.
This question made Tristan stop Midway through the stairs; "I am not engaged. "
"Look, we're only doing this for your happiness." Mr Hutz said.
"No! You're only doing this for your happiness!" Tristan yelled at his father.
"Tristan, common don't talk like that to your father. All we want is for you to settle down with someone good enough for you. " Mrs Hutz said to her son at the brink of tears.
"No, all you want is for your accounts to be filled up!"
"What are you saying son? "
"Oh please father! Stop acting like you care, stop pretending. Did you really think I would never find out about your contractual agreement with the Hutzs? They promised to will half of their wealth to our family if you gave your son to their daughter for marriage. Isn't that the truth Mr and Mrs Ashton? " Tristan asked in tears.
"Oh my God! " Tomika screamed as she jumped off her bed.
"What's the problem Tom? " Charming asked in fright.
"Are you okay? " She asked Tomika.
"I'm fine. It was just a nightmare. " Tomika said, breathing heavily.
"You can talk to me about it. " Charming said walking over to Tomika who was on the floor.
"No! "
"Wow! That sounded aggressive. You know what? You can tell me when you want to. "Charming said to her friend.
"I'm sorry about my outburst. I never meant it like that. " Tomika apologised.
"It's okay. I'm here for you, we're here for each other. Always remember that okay. "
Tomika simply nodded as she snuggled closer to Charming for a hug.
Mr and Mrs Hutz knew that their daughter would go to any length to get herself out of her bond with Tristan so they decided to leave the house. That way, she would feel free to train herself to becoming a better person. They knew that she would think they didn't see her as good enough so disposing her as quickly as possible was the best option.
With these thoughts in mind, both parents purposely left her with Tomika so she wouldn't do anything stupid asides taking responsibility. By the time they returned, they were sure to meet a more responsible daughter. Tristan would find no fault in their daughter.
"Asides having your own cook show, I think you should be a marriage counselor. " Mr Hutz joked as he massaged his wife's foot.
Mrs Hutz who comfortably laid on the bed of the hotel room laughed; "Like I said, my talents are only for my babies. "
