Emily felt herself being dropped to the ground as she opened her eyes to look around her. Trees enclosed her vision as she realised she was in the middle of a forest, a forest she has no idea about. She instinctively put her hands on her pocket to search for her phone but found none. After a few seconds of frantic searching the whole incident of her death and rebirth came rushing by. Her body started shaking as an abnormal amount of rage hit her soul. She couldn't control herself anymore. So she screamed hard. So hard that the trees felt a wave of earthquake and the animals stumbled. She slid to the ground as she finally broke down. "What was my mistake? I didn't harm him. Then why did he do this with me?" She kept on asking herself as her eyes blurred with tears. "I loved him truly and this is what I get in return. Why is god so unfair. I never thought loving someone so much from the bottom of the heart could bring this much pain" she kept on murmuring to herself as cried even more. It felt as if her tears would soak the forest wet. The gloomy night passed as nature embraced her to sleep.
The sun striked Emily's face as she opened her eyes to the blinding light rays of sun. Everything seemed so happy and cheerful. Birds were chirping, squirrels chattered as soft wind blew through the forest as the leaves of the trees moved softly. She looked around until she felt her cheeks were stained with dried tears. She started walking in search of her water as heard a waterfall. "Thanks to the werewolf genes" she thought to herself and smiled a little. As soon as she reached the waterfall she washed her face and drank water. The area was really peaceful. Suddenly she heard someone say "Just go and bath you idiot, you stink". She frowned and looked around only to find herself around the waterfall. She shrugged it off thinking it was her mind saying her things. She quickly striped out of her one piece and underwear set as she jumped into the water. "Aahh" she moaned at the feeling of water grazing her smooth brown skin. She swam to the other side of the lake. She finally felt happy.
It's almost afternoon. Although she had bathed but didn't any clothes that she could put after bath. She has been finding some fruits for her lunch for God knows how long but no avail. Suddenly she tripped and fell right on her face. "The fuck!!" She thought to herself when again a sarcastic voice said. "Never in my life have I seen a girl with such idiocy. How cute..". Now this was some serious issue. This has really started being creepy. "Someone's definitely following me" she thought to herself as frowned and looked around but again finding nothing but herself. Suddenly she felt something slightly scratching her brain. She srunched her nose in discomfort. "I thought you are an idiot but u turned out to be an idiot idiot" she could hear the voice scoff. By now Emily has understood someone was talking in her mind but couldn't figure out who. "I am your wolf you dumbass. Or did you even forget that you are a werewolf now" Her eyes went wide in the sudden realisation. "Ok? So what both of us are supposed to do now exactly? Ohh and what's your name?". "We are supposed to be friends, ya know, like give each other advise and have each other's back in our bad times, ummm yeahh, that's what we are supposed to do. And about my name, I'm your wolf, so your choice" "How about echo because you remind me a lot of it?" She arched her brows as she rolled her eyes. "Sure" her wolf replied irritated "Your wolf, your wish". "What do you think we should do now I am hungry. Help me find some food" "You cannot shift as a wolf which means I cannot come out and act on my powers, you will have much sensitive senses than humans but not that strong that you will be able to identify minute things, that can only happen if I take over and that cannot happen because I have not learnt to control myself yet. I can't do things which both of us will later regret. You will have to wait until your first shift which is indeed very painful. Wolves go crazy, find it hard to control themselves during this time. So we will be needing guidance when you shift for the first time" said Echo in one breath. "So where do find a guide for myself now? I cannot trust some random stranger with these things right.." Emily started walking as both she and Echo were in deep thoughts about what needs to be done next when suddenly Emily picked up the aroma of freshly cooked food. She ran towards that direction as fast as possible only to come face to face with a two-storey cottage. "A two-storey cottage in the middle of the forest... How so??" She thought to herself. She opened the gate and walked up to the door and knocked. The door opened and a beautiful middle aged woman came to view. With arched eyebrows little smile on lips she asked Emily "Who are you miss?" "I am really hungry, haven't eaten anything since yesterday. Can I get bits of food please" she asked impatiently. "Sure, come in" the woman opened the door wider for her to come inside. "Wash your hands. Washroom's that way, down the hall, the second last one on the right" she pointed to a hallway in the left. She quickly washed her hands and came back only to see the dining table filled with bowls and platters of food. Without wasting any time she quickly took a seat opposite to the woman as she served her the salad. After a few bites the woman asked "who are you?" "Huh". Emily was dumbfounded. "Emily Varlice" she mumbled with eyes downcast. "Humans are not given the right to to enter this place. So who are you?" "A werewolf. And you?" She mumbled slowly unsure. "Cecily Barker, A witch" she replied proudly smirking.
