Sophia could see that this Kael was a happy soul. He was really a good friend to keep.
" I am doing good princess,I have finally achieved the post I have always admired. I am now the general of the army and all this is thanks to you Princess." Kael replied full of enthusiasm.
Looking at his blooming face, Sophia offered him a polite smile. From her previous memories, she can see the boy always dreamt of becoming the general. He had worked very hard for his dream Post.
" I am so happy for you Kael. You have really worked hard , congratulations." Sophia said happy for him from the bottom of his heart.
" Now I an just waiting to have your promise fulfilled." he said grinning from ear to ear.
" A promise? What promise?" Sophia asked confused. There's no recollection of a memory of her promising him a present.
" You don't remember your promise to me if I achieved my dream?" Kael asked really dejected. He has always remembered her promise to him so how could she forget. Wasn't it important to her as it was to him or did she forget because she never considered him a true friend?.
" I really don't remember about it. You know I was in a coma for a long time and since I woke up, some parts of my memories are not clear." Sophia replied hoping that her fake excuse can save herself. But come to think about it,it wasn't fake at all. The only difference is that she woke up as a completely different person and all of Sophia's past memories did not come back.
Kael was aware of the predicament the princess went through after she was married.
The people here do know about king Raphael but what they don't know is that he is the devil himself.
His kingdom is just like any other Kingdom in the land just that it was rumoured to be sorrounded by magic such that no one could enter easily.
He knew that their princess became seriously I'll after marriage and had been sleeping for years.
" I understand. You had promised to make for me a sword with a golden handle as a present if I become the general." Kael volunteered to remind her about her promise to him since she forgot all about it.
" Yes,a sword. Don't worry Kael, expect your present anytime soon." Sophia said smiling at him.
"I knew it! My princess always keeps her words." Kael said happily, almost jumping on Sophia.
Rizia was amused by his actions. He was too carefree and easy going but the moment he said ' my princess ', danger alerts started ringing in her head.
" Keep your distance,I understand that the princess is your childhood friend, but she is a married woman and the queen to our kingdom." Rizia said with all seriousness.
Hearing her voice, Kael turned to look at her. it's until now he realized that the princess had company. He was so excited to see the princess that anybody else was invisible to him. His eyes were only set on his Princess.
" And who are you?" He fired back, not the least pleased by the warning she gave him.
Rizia was determined to protect the queen and the super closeness the boy had to the princess was alarming.
What if their queen got charmed by him and left the King to come be with him. Afterall the two of them knew each other for long and seemed pretty close.
" I am the queen's personal maid and I demand you keep your distance from our queen." replied Rizia sternly. She wouldn't loose to this man even if he was the general of the kingdom's army.
" Does being the maid of the princess give you the right to stop me from interacting with her?" Kael asked back obviously displeased by the guts of the little girl.
" I am not stopping you ,I just want you to respect the Queen. She is no longer the princess you knew, she's the queen of our kingdom and you cannot be so casual when talking to her." Rizia fired back.
Sophia could only inwardly sigh watching the two exchanging words.
She understood the reason why Rizia picked a fight with Kael, the girl was super protective of her. Seeing someone talk so casually didn't sit well with her or should I rather say was disturbing.
Kael on the other hand was not the one to treat his friends officially. Sophia might be the queen of a kingdom now but to his heart, she was still princess Sophia who followed him everywhere. In the past, they were inseparable so how do you expect him to start treating her like a Queen.
" I don't care about that,to me she is still my Friend and the princess of this kingdom,my princess." Kael retorted.
" You ..." Rizia was speechless. No amount of sense could be forced on the blockhead.
" It's enough you two. I am still here you know. What's there to argue about and Rizia, here I am no queen. I am just the princess of the kingdom so no need to command respect from the people here." Sophia said smiling at the girl.
She was happy that someone was protective of her, just like her husband.
" I understand my queen." she replied meekly.
Seeing this, Kael gloated inside and did not forget to make faces to Rizia angering her once again.
Sophia was amused by their interaction. it looked like this two cannot stay in one place together otherwise.....
" Stop that Kael, you are the general of this kingdom, start behaving like One." Sophia reprimanded him sternly.
" Okay my princess." Kael replied smiling broadly.
With his nature, Sophia wondered if the soldiers ever listened to him. What she did not know was that the Kael here with her was completely different when he was in the camp.
He was the most respected general and the youngest at that. He commanded respect from his soldiers through his ability, power and achievement
