"The mission ahead of you is something you cannot avoid so my daughter,be courageous enough to conquer anything. My brother, please look for him and rely my apology on my behalf and be well my daughter. I will always miss you."
Sophia completed reading the letter and she felt like crying. She hated it when this emotions overcomes her composure.
She knows that at times like this, she is not Sophia from another world, but Sophia from the kingdom of Windsor.
Standing up,she made a decision to see her father to bid him goodbye so unknowingly, her legs found themselves heading to their quarters. she was certain she was gonna find her father there and true to her thoughts, her father, the Duke of Windsor kingdom and Angel Michael was seated somewhere.
Her mother while she was alive was fond of flowers. She had made a garden of flowers while she was still alive. This garden could be said to be the queen's favourite spot in the whole kingdom.
Her mother would spend time personally tending to this flowers,it not,she would come and sit here. She would always say that the sweet fragrance of flowers nullifies one's bitterness of life.
Back then, Sophia used to find that statement incomprehensible. She could not understand why her mother who was the queen and married to the sweetest and caring husband would talk about the bitterness of life.
Now,she could relate. The betrayal by her best friend then from her fellow demons forcing her to flee and live a life of a commoner wasn't beautiful at all.
" Come and sit besides me." Her father beckoned her. He didn't have to look back to know that his daughter was already there.
She had a sweet scent of jasmine that was unique.
Sophia walked wordlessly and sat besides her father. That was the same bench her mother would sit at and watch the sun go down every evening.
She was fond of that.
" I used to wonder why your mother Loved to come and sit here until I took the initiative to do so.
Do you feel it? the tranquility?" Her father asked her.
Indeed, sitting here and watching everything and everyone go on with their life was something that was calming.
" Whenever I Miss your mother or I want to think,I usually come and sit here. With be here,I feel like my wife still exists, like she never left me. Siting here reminds me that I did not fully fulfill the duty the heavens send me to do here." Michael said.
" what do you mean by that?" Asked Sophia completely puzzled. What duty was her father talking about?.
" Me coming down on earth was not only because I was rewarded by the Almighty,it was also under strict instructions that I was to look for the demon gifted with a very powerful essence,I was instructed that I was to protect her life since it would be in danger. She was very important because from her,a girl will be born who will redeem and save the world from destruction." He explained, regret deeply laced in his voice.
" I had spend hundreds of years here on earth trying to locate her but I was unsuccessful. Who would have thought that the same person I had overturned the world upside down to search for was under my care and I couldn't recognize her. I failed my duty as the angel of war and also as a husband. I could do nothing to keep my own wife safe." A lone tear slipped from his eyes.
" Now that the mark of the chosen one has already surfaced and the prophecy is about to be fulfilled,my duty here on earth is over.
In no time,I'll leave the earth abd ascend to heaven to continue with my duties. The peace of the world is been threatened and it's high time I return and make things right."
" You want to mean that you are soon going to leave me,just like mother did?" Sophia asked. She didn't even know how the question escaped her lips. it must be the memories and emotions of her host in control.
" You are not alone my daughter. You have your mate and uncle with you. They will be your close companions from now. My mission here on earth is over and my duty for the whole world calls so I have no options but leave." Her father said helplessly.
Taking her hands to his," Sophia." He addressed her officially now,not like her father but like the angel Michael, the formidable and highly respected Angel of war.
" The safety of the world is in your hands. The fate of my friend is also on your hands. I hope you don't let the world suffer the wrath of your mate's anger, promise to do your best and prevent the coming catastrophe." He said almost pleading.
" I promise to do my best to ensure the safety of all beings." Sophia replied.
" Thankyou my daughter." He said pulling her into a tight hug.
She basked into the warmness of her father's hug. Maybe this was the last time she will get to hug her father before he left this earth and go back to where he rightfully belongs.
Handing her a paper written," This is your uncle's address. make sure yo visit him soon. His life isn't good and he is going on a path of destruction. I believe only you can redeem him and save him from that. Good luck with your mission." He said, stood up and walked away.
Sophia watched her father's retreating back and she couldn't stop tearing up. He appeared to be lonely and sad.
Wiping away her tears she stood up," until we see each other again father." With that she too left, with the intention of finding Sophia so that they could go back to the castle.
it has been a long day and she was missing her mate.
