Chapter 4 - Coming Back

Jason's POV

I have all the parts that I need except for one thing... THAT *BLEEP* BUTTON THAT I LOST LAST NIGHT! It's probably been ran over by cars over and over again. So what's the use in retrieving it? I still have plans from the last button. Brilliant, am I right? I put my jacket on and stuffed all my evil plans and intentions in my cabinets. Ha! This day has been easy...too easy....Eh, what could possibly go wrong? I opened the door and walked out. It feels good--really? My ears dropped as I glared at the exact girl I met last night. Kitty, you're not here. Please. This has to be a dream.

Katelyn's POV

"Hi again," I said in a friendly voice. "I brought you some food.... if you're hungry." I knew I got his attention. How do I know? He's standing there, drooling.... Just like a puppy.

Jason's POV

I heard "food". Where's the food? I resisted the urge to bark. I...I...."Let's go inside shall we?"

Katelyn's POV

Yes! He's falling for it! Everything is going according to plan...so far. In Jason's house, it was still a mess, but hey, I don't mind. Jason snatched the food from my hands. I flinched feeling a sting of pain as he grabbed them.

Jason's POV

Oops. My bad.

Katelyn's POV

But that pain didn't matter. All I could do was smile at the werewolf as he happily ate the food.

Jason's POV

"Wait, why are you smiling? DID YOU POISON ME," I barked. "No, of course not," Kitty replied, "I'm just happy you're enjoying your food." I gave her a confused glare for a moment before stuffing the rest of my food into my mouth. Why is she being so nice to me? The last person that was this nice to me, they tried to get me arrested. If you may have guessed, she was a cop.

Time after time. Person after person. All faking their kindness. Trying to be so sweet so they can earn my trust and turn on me when they have the chance. "What's your name," Kitty asked. What? I hesitated for a moment. Usually people would want to scream, run away, or call the cops. But... when I looked into her eyes, it was like the others. She wanted me to trust her. But how can I after losing trust in many other people? "My name is.... Jason," I finally replied.

Katelyn's POV

"I'm Katelyn. But my friends call me Katie." Jason has been stuttering a lot. Did I say something wrong? "I'm still going to call you Kitty," he blurted. Okay...Jason suddenly looked at me with drooped ears. "You're not going to call the police on me, are you," he asked. "If I were going to do it, I would have done it by now," I said, "As a matter of fact, I could have done it last night." Jason nearly jumped at the comment. His ears perked up quickly. "What? What do you mean," he asked in a panic. "In case you didn't notice, I had my phone with me the entire time," I responded, still smiling. "Anyway, how are you feeling," I asked.

Jason's POV

"Better. I guess. It still hurts. But I don't know if you care," I murmured. Kitty put her hand on my shoulder. Is this supposed to comfort me? Kitty's voice suddenly became gentle. "If I didn't care about you, then I wouldn't have helped you." Of all the people she could care about, she would care about--no. This is a lie. She's lying. I shoved Kitty's hand off my shoulder, and I began to think of ALL the people who lied to me. Some tried to turn me in to become popular, some just wanted to get rich, others just wanted me in jail.

Katelyn's POV

Well it worked... For a moment. "Why do you think I would call the police on you?" Jason looked back at me, he was silent for a moment before finally murmuring, "Everyone else did." "I'm not everyone else," I said quietly. Jason began to raise his voice. I could hear the deep growling behind it as he said, "That....was exactly what the last person said to me. And do you know what they did? They tried to kill me!" My head lowered down to my shoulders. "I'm sorry, Jason. I didn't know."

Jason's POV

Didn't know? DIDN'T KNOW? "Oh, so what did everyone else say?"

"Noth--"

"Did they tell you how much I'm wanted? How dangerous I am? How HEART-LESS I am?"

"Now I don't think--"

"All those things they said about me are true."

"STOP IT! SHUT UP, AND LISTEN!"

My eyes glowed. Her voice went from friendly to very mean. "They told me NOTHING," she said, at least in a normal voice. Oh. Well that's good.

But everything they would have said, I've already told her. I've heard every insult. Dangerous, heartless, a demon, a murderer, a monster, a villain...I actually liked the last one to be honest. They never hurt. I just shrugged at them. It's their fault I became this way. I paused in my thoughts, feeling Kitty wrapping her arms around me.

What...

Is this girl...

Doing?

I sighed quietly and wrapped my arms around her. Then I heard her murmur, "I knew you weren't completely heartless." Hur? Is that really what she thinks? I mean, how would she know? If she really hasn't been in the city for a long time, then she doesn't know everything that I've done. People I killed trying to get revenge.... But that's better kept to myself.

Katelyn's POV

I talked to him all night. It felt like the more I learned about him, the less dangerous he seemed. Jason even cracked a few jokes, which honestly made me laugh. Who knew the grumpy werewolf had a sense of humor? But it was getting late, and I could feel sleep creeping up on me again. My eyelids grew heavy, and the next thing I knew, I was leaning on him... again. I hope he doesn't mind. He seems okay with it.

Jason's POV

Ugh. It's just like last night. She fell asleep on me, and snuggled me like I was her own teddy bear. AND I'M NOT!!! I sighed. Just like last night.... I feel *bleep* embarrassed.
