Chapter 30 - You better not regret this!

We lay on the water tank for quite a while, and before we knew it, it was already 7 pm. It was time for the cooking classes. To be honest, I didn't want to go to the class today and stay with Aimee, but I know that's not possible and I need to talk to Jack about my combat training. He won't teach me magic until Aimee can use her core to use magic. He told me that she would be able to weald her mana soon, but there is no exact date for that.

"Haaaaa" I took a long breath and let it out. There is no point in thinking about this. When the time comes, we will know. "Are we going?" Aimee asked when she saw me breathe out. "Ya, it's about time, so let's get moving," I said as I stood up on the tank and took a last look at the beautiful view in front of me.

I started to move towards the edge of the tank but then noticed that Aimee wasn't following me. I looked back and saw she hadn't even started moving. She looked at me with a grin as she said, "Carry me on your back." She was giggling like a little girl. "Sigh, am I spoiling you too much?" I asked her as I moved closer and let her onto my back. I grabbed her by the thighs so that she wouldn't fall off as she wrapped her hands around my neck.

"Whoooo, let's go!" she yelled when I stood up. "You better not regret this," I said when I heard her getting excited. As I made some fast calculations in my mind and jumped off the tank and started walking, "Ahhh, where are we going if the door is that way?" Aimee asked me as I was walking towards the fence. "Hold on tightly, we are going to your apartment directly," I announced with excitement. It was my first time doing this too, so I was getting excited just thinking about it.

"Steven? Steven, where are you going to turn around? turn around," she said while panicking. I grabbed her thigh tightly, so she couldn't even get off my back.

As I neared the fence, I jumped while covering my body with mana to give my jump a little extra force. As I bent down and jumped into the air, I could feel Aimee grasping me even more tightly. She was really scared. While in the air, I looked around. The roof was below me and getting closer as I traveled over the ledge. It was a fulfilling moment. It was as if I was flying.

It was as if time had slowed down the feeling of freedom. It was the kind of feeling that I would imagine a person with no worries would get.

For some reason, it felt refreshing. While I was thinking this, I heard a gasp and a "wow" from my back. I guess she opened her eyes and was mesmerized by the feeling or the view. I couldn't tell exactly what it was. But soon we started to fall, and when we did, I heard Aimee screaming right by my ears, "AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH". As we were falling, I used mana bullets and shot about 10 of them for my feet. I used the recoil from that and it was enough for us to safely get the propeller toward Aimee's apartment balcony.

I jumped onto the balcony and safely landed. Jack, who was sitting on the sofa, said, as he saw our entry, "You are lucky Emma is not here or she might just kill you." When I heard this, I said, "Ya, you might be right about that. She did warn me. " As I said, I walked into the living room. I slowly crouched down and let Aimee leave my back and sit on the sofa before sitting on the sofa myself right next to her.

"So you want to ride on my back ever again?" I asked Aimee in a teasing manner. She looked at me with a really cute pouting face. Her face was flushed red because of all the adrenaline rush. She looked like a red tomato. "Pfft." I couldn't hold my laughter when I saw her face and laughed out loud.

She pouted more and frowned when she heard me laugh. She started hitting my chest with her fists. Jack was enjoying the show from the background. as her daughter got embarrassed. "Don't ever do that again," Aimee said while beating my chest like a drum.

"Hmm, if you say it with a cute face like that, then I will be able to hold myself back," I said. "Alright, you two. I am going to vomit sugar if you are going to be like this," Jack said before Aimee could respond.

"Alright kid, go to the kitchen and start preparing," he said as he stood up and started going towards the kitchen. I gave a final kiss on Aimee's forehead when I saw this. I followed Jack into the kitchen as I lift Aimee.

Aimee POV

It was an exciting day today, maybe one of the best in my life. My heart is still beating like a drum. I never expected him to jump off the building like this. I think this is the reason he isn't afraid of falling when he lies on the ledge of the building. Steven is overconfident because he never expected to fall from the building. But well, it's not like he would hurt himself even if he did fall.

As I was thinking about this, his confession came into my mind. I just want to go back and relive that moment all over again. I thought it made my already red face feel even hotter.

"He loves me," I said to myself as I was thinking about his confession. "He does?" I heard as I replied without thinking. "Ya, he said he does," I said before realizing it. I hurriedly looked beside me and saw my sister sitting right beside me. When Arinn sat right beside me on the sofa, "When did you get here?" I asked her. I didn't even realize it when she came here. Was I so lost in my thoughts? I asked myself. When Arinn heard my question, she giggled and said, in a really cute voice, "hehe bwg swinter loves bwg bwother."

I was going to scold her for sneaking up on me like that, but damn it, she is too cute to even scold her. As I was thinking this, I heard the doorbell ring, so I stood up. Arinn followed me. It could be my mom or it could be Ruby. As I opened the door, I saw Ruby standing outside. She was wearing a shirt and jeans. He had tied her hair into a loosely tied ponytail, which looked perfect on her.

"Hey, welcome, come in." I invited her in. As soon as I finished speaking, Arinn came running from behind me and hugged Ruby's leg. "Bwg swister Ruby." She said it had been a while since she saw Ruby. Ruby often came over when we were in middle school.

"Hay Arinn, you have gotten taller," she said as she picked up Arinn in her arms. Arinn giggled when she heard this, "hehe." We walked into the living room after that and sat on the sofas and talked to each other in the meantime, while dinner was getting ready.

As we were talking, Dad came into the room to set up the table. He smiled when he saw Ruby in the living room. "Hay Ruby, it's been a while," he said. "Yes, it has been Mr. Jack," she said. "You know, you can call me Jack. You have known me since you were in middle school," he said. "This is the way I should call you," she replied. For some reason, Ruby never called him or my mother without using Mr. or Mrs. For some reason, even when dad and mom told her to call them by their name, she would reply the same as she did just now.

As we were talking, we heard the doorbell again. "It must be mom." "I'll get the door," I said as I walked back towards the front door. I opened it and saw my mom standing outside. "Welcome back, mom," I said with a smile as soon as I said her name. After mom entered, we walked back to the living room.

As soon as mom saw Ruby, she smiled and said, "It's been a while, Ruby." Ruby, who was still talking to my dad while carrying my little sister, saw my mom and smiled, "Yes, it's been a while, Mrs. Walls."

"Welcome wome, mom," Arinn said as soon as she saw mom. "Thank you, dear," mom replied with a kind smile on her face. "You should change, dinner will be ready in about 15 minutes," dad said as he hugged mom and started going back to the kitchen. "You two talk, I will go change," mom said when she heard her dad and moved to her room. Ruby and I talked as we waited for dinner to get ready. Soon, Mom came back after changing.

After some time, Dad started to put the dishes on the table as we all sat down at the table. As everyone sat down, there was another seat empty, but there was a plate on that spot with food on top of that. "There is a free seat, are there other guests coming?" Ruby asked when she saw this. "He must be done with the salad by now," Dad said when she asked as he was about to call out for Steven. "Ya soory, I am late." A voice came from the stove of the kitchen. He was carrying a bowl of salad in his hand. He placed it down and sat down in his seat, and he noticed Ruby sitting right across from her.

"Hay Ruby," he said.
