Chapter 18 - Chapter VI - Dreamers (2/3)

Varun ran up to a half-sunken house and something shined at his face, from the ground. It was a small white gem, seeming to be begging Varun to pick it up, but Varun just stared right at it. The next moment, he had grown up again.

Varun knew this is where it all started and was caught in the position. The gem was right near his feet, but he was not sure if to pick it up again, because he knew what all that one thing had caused by now.

Would he become and feel like the same fourth-grade kid, after he picked it up?

"A legacy…?" a voice came, Varun still couldn't pick his eyes off the gem. "A pathetic one… You seem to be special, but you look just like any other guy up close."

"Get this up close!" a voice of a girl came and Varun turned. There was nothing in his sight but dry land everywhere.

"Varun," a wavy voice came. Varun turned and could see Aria right beside him. "Where is this?"

"Oh, we all know where this is," another voice came and Flint was on the other side of Varun.

"Of all the places, this is where it started?" a voice came from beside Flint, it was Maaz.

"I did not choose this," Varun said.

"This is all a dream and not true. That is of course clear at this point," Fara said, appearing beside Aria.

"We need a way out. Any bright ideas…?" Adam asked.

"One, there is an extent to our imagination. And this being Varun's imagination, it is easier for us to leave here. But Varun needs a way out, good luck with that man," Jiant said appearing and then disappeared.

"His imagination seemed too low. And mine is up high," Adam said and disappeared.

Slowly everyone disappeared and it was Varun alone.

"This is not where you belong, Varun. Go back, and we can find a way for this to end," Varun heard the girl's voice again.

"Who are you?" Varun asked.

"Hello consciousness. I'm the voice inside your head," the voice giggled.

"Wow, yeah I know it is you now," Varun said.

"Before you get pulled deeper in, go now," the voice said.

Varun looked at the gem one last time and ignored it. He raced into the half-sunken house and everything faded to darkness.

Varun gasped and got up from his bed. Aria wasn't at the door, so he just slowly woke up and crossed the door without fainting.

Everyone were getting up from their spots and getting into full conscious state. Jay just barely took his eyes off from the book he was holding.

"Did you all see that?" Varun asked.

"Landing to Mars and dance battling Thor? Yup that is the extent I saw," Adam said.

"Back flipping into the Earth," Jiant said.

"Trying to find Varun's brain," Maaz said.

"I better not say mine," Flint said.

"People talking crazy after sleeping so hard," Jay said staring at everyone with confusion and finally put down the book.

"It was one weird dream and not normal," Aria said.

"Did anyone get an idea of what it was? Or some clue?" Fara asked.

"Some guy was talking to me, before you came. He is the person behind all this I suppose," Varun said.

"What did he say?" Jiant asked.

"He said of how I was special but also just a common guy," Varun said.

"And that's not just your imagination?" Aria asked.

"I don't know, we need to find out," Varun said.

Jay was confused of what everyone was talking about "what is-"

Varun blurred out and this time wasn't like the previous couple times, it was another teleportation and Varun was sure of that.

Varun teleported into the throne room, near the throne but facing the door.

"You guys seriously have a great timing," Varun sighed.

"What, were you peeing your pants?" Kara asked.

Varun turned behind and all the four girls were there.

"Hey…" Varun said in a slow, star-dazed expression and tone.

"Hey…" Nightrale said waving her hand excitedly.

"Now, why was I called?" Varun asked, wearing a serious face.

"We might have found Psycho. And Kara for the first time smartly suggested to call you," Manasie said.

"Oh great… and I found more about the problem on Earth," Varun said.

"Is it Rahambose?" Manasie asked.

"Is Rahambose a nightmare?" Varun asked.

"Depends," Manasie said.

"Why, what happened?" Magpie asked.

"Well, I had the weirdest of dreams and then found that my mind was being played with, even my friends were with me. And then I heard him. He said that I was special but looked just like any other," Varun said.

"Mind was being played with? Explain," Nightrale said.

"Ah, a five mark question. I was just dreaming in the normal weird way and then suddenly woke up. I found my friend who was trying to wake me up and then she said that something was wrong. When I reached the door though, everything went blank, and I was in my bed again, as my friend came in, again. Then she again said something was wrong, and then this time when I passed the door, I was in a huge playground."

Varun continued "This playground was the place where I found the gem, which has now connected me to Pluto. Also, found out that whatever is causing the snow, started in the ground. My brother had researched about it and he is usually right on this kind of stuff. Sometimes."

And he went on more. "In the ground, I was at the same position where I found the stone. And I heard a voice behind me telling how I'm special but looked common up-close. Then I saw my friends, and we escaped by reaching the limits of imagination in the place. As for marks, I guess I covered the topic, but the answer wasn't long enough. Who cares? That was ace," Varun said, Hi-Fi-ing himself.

"Ignoring the jokes, someone speak," Magpie sighed.

"You people are smart to think of a way to escape. So someone was controlling what you see, surely? And it wasn't just your imagination?" Manasie asked.

"Ever heard of collective dreaming?" Varun asked.

"I don't know. Ever heard of the smartness of Shankans?" Manasie asked.

"I don't get that reference," Varun said.

"No one gets you," Manasie said.

"Spoiler or possible mockery?" Varun asked.

Nightrale laughed, seemingly understanding the joke.

"She gets it," Varun said pointing at Nightrale.

"Mana meant that the Primevels of Leishank or Shankans are experts in doing such stuff. Psycho for an instance has their knowledge and made such things as Psycho-blades, giving people power and 'The dividing-multiplier'," Kara said.

"Manasie," Manasie corrected.

"You mean this guy who did this could be a Shankan too?" Varun asked.

"Not every Shankan is a villain," Manasie sighed.

"But a possibility," a voice came, it was Harun, right behind Varun.

"If it wasn't for your cute face, I would've freaked out," Varun said, patting Harun's shoulder.

"I just might have a possible theory," Harun said.

"If yours includes Phobetor, you are right. And your team is in danger as he would be in close proximity to where you were," Manasie sighed.

"Who…?" Varun asked.
