Chapter 22 - Chapter VII - Error #404 (3/3)

Everyone was gathered at the throne room as Manasie, Varun and Harun entered from the side and everyone turned to them.

"We welcome our special guests to finally arrive," Kara sighed.

"Now, now, they weren't that late too Lady Kara," Harun said.

"Just was bored," Kara said.

"As much as I respect your personal times, this was important," Harun said.

"What is exactly?" Alias asked.

"I have found a way to send Varun back to Earth," Harun said.

"Ok… and?" Nightrale asked.

"Lady Kara, hit the identical stone-gem to something," Harun said.

Kara hit the gem in her hand with her other hand. A slight jolt hit Varun's back but not hard.

"Ouch," Varun said.

"That is a signal that you are needed on Pluto and will be teleported soon," Harun said.

"No other way?" Varun asked.

"Well, you can talk into the stone, when not using the armour. But I'm not sure of how good it could be on your side. It can also be used to see faces actually, but sometimes even voice may not pass. I made the identical-one for the good quality but can't change your one, so both side might not be good enough quality," Harun said.

"Interesting," Varun said.

"And impossible," Manasie said.

"Well, whatever Psycho made is very powerful, Lady Manasie. Not energy… but powerful," Harun said.

"And only mine!" a frustrated voice came; Psycho had appeared out of no-where.

"Wow, that is not the parcel I asked for. You look more broken in the light," Varun said.

"Enough with the mockery! How dare you try to make use of my Makeshift?" Psycho hissed.

"What can I say? But that I'm quite a daring guy," Varun said.

"You will regret this. Do not continue on the path of always being against me," Psycho said.

"Ok boomer, but you started this F.Y.I.," Varun said.

"I simply was seizing my victory," Psycho said.

"And me the chance of being to space. We are not the same bro," Varun said.

"I will hunt you down forever, I swear," Psycho hissed.

"Down-down tiger, you are endangered. Well, that was some dark sarcasm, but whatever," Varun said.

"The next time we meet, I'll be the one laughing at the joke I caused at your Earthen floor," Psycho said and disappeared.

"Well, says the one who runs away so soon," Varun scoffed.

"He is dangerous you know," Manasie suggested.

"I know, but showing fear makes them win easily," Varun said.

"Well, congratulations on making an outer-space rival," Kara said.

"Keeps happening these days for some greater-hidden reason in the future, guess I'll go along the flow," Varun said.

"Atta boy," Manasie said.

"I have decided to call my creation as, 'The Mirror'," Harun said.

"Was wondering why he was so silent," Varun said.

"So, it's time you go soon," Manasie pointed out.

"Yes… question though. Can you guys come to Earth too?" Varun asked.

"The mirror-gem is a communication device, which teleports you in or out, without us having one part of your stone-gem. But can't be done from the other side," Harun said.

"But if we plan properly-" Varun said.

"-not a good enough plan. Can rip any of us," Harun said.

"Alright, fine," Varun sighed.

Harun walked up to Kara and borrowed the mirror-gem from her. As he did something, everything blurred out to Varun.

***

Aria had safely reached inside the house and was waiting for Varun to come. She started hearing some sounds from the dark kitchen but just convinced herself that it just was in her head.

A 'swoosh' sound caught her ears and she got alert. Footsteps came from the kitchen as she escaped and hid slowly into the room, still keeping an eye into the hall.

"Filthy human houses," groaned a big bulky guy who came out of the kitchen. "This is where he appeared from, last time. His friends must be close," he said and went into the shop.

Varun appeared in front of Aria and she quickly grabbed him and dragged him into the room as quickly as she could, covering his… helm.

"You are Varun right? And not just another ghost," Aria whispered to the guy in armour.

***

"Yes… why are we whispering?" Varun whispered back to the confused Aria. What did she mean by, 'another ghost'?

"Some big monstrous guy appeared out of the kitchen," Aria said.

"I knew it! Something surely was spooky about the kitchen always," Varun said.

"Well, as much as I want to mock you right now for that. He was monstrous, with all the scars around his body," Aria said.

"That is not a monster, it's Psycho," Varun said out loud.

"Oh, so you are here," Psycho's voice came from a distance.

"And there goes the element of surprise," Aria sighed under her breath.

"Welcome to my house, Psycho. Hope you love your stay," Varun said standing straight opposite to the shop's entrance, from near the room.

"Oh I will when I'm above your corpse," Psycho said.

"He just sounds scary," Varun said pointing into the darkness and looking at Aria.

A sword came towards Varun, flying and its hilt hit Varun's armour and fell down.

"And a bad thrower," Varun said, picking up the sword from near him.

"That bothers you right now?" Aria asked.

"I'm right here, don't worry," Varun said.

"Says the guy afraid of anything flying," Aria scoffed.

It was dark in the shop and no movement was visible from where Varun was. There was complete silence as if Psycho had disappeared.

"Quit hiding and show yourself Psycho," Varun said.

"Right behind your friend," Psycho's voice came from the room.

Varun turned towards Aria and Psycho was right behind her, with a sword in his hand. Varun raised his hand and gasped, trying to make him stop.

Aria turned behind and Psycho slashed his sword towards her and stabbed into her heart as she gasped one last breath and Psycho laughed.

Varun just froze at the moment and couldn't feel anything and a loud buzzing started in his mind. He let out a breath as his mind couldn't bear whatever it just saw and things started to blur out into pixels ahead of him.

He gasped and fell to the ground and felt a very continuous falling sensation, as if into some dark abyss. As he fell down, his legs seemed to hit the ground and everything came back to picture.

He was facing the dark shop, with the sword in his grasp… again.

"Says the guy afraid of anything flying," Aria scoffed.

"Duck," Varun said.

"As an example, if you would," Aria laughed.

"Duck!" Varun screamed dropping the sword, from his grasp.

Varun felt an urge around his hands and raised both of them into the air. Aria was shook but did what Varun said and bent down as much as she could. A lightning jolt left from Varun's gauntlets and towards where Aria stood straight a second ago.

Psycho appeared and got hit by the jolt and fell down behind Aria. Aria was frightened of how this was happening and moved away from both Psycho and Varun quickly, against the bureau.

Varun hurriedly picked up the sword and sat upon the paralyzed Psycho. He sure could still see Varun as he was looking straight up in shock.

"Not her!" Varun spit.

Varun lifted up the sword and rushed it towards Psycho. Aria was shook and covered her eyes with her hands. Psycho just disappeared when the sword was barely a centimetre away from him.

Varun kept going and the sword clinked into the ground, breaking up instantly. Varun angrily screamed and threw the other piece towards the ground.

"What in the world… is wrong with you?" Aria asked gasping.

Varun realised of what just happened and got up. He was tearing up inside his armour continuously, but outside only rage showed up to Aria. He controlled his gasping from the current situation and fell down to the ground after taking one last look at Aria.

*

Splash of water woke Varun into existence. He was on the bed and out of his armour. Aria stood at a distance, with an empty jug in her hand.

"You just fainted all of a sudden. I thought it could be the armour and took the stone off and put you on bed," Aria said.

Varun wiped off the water from up his face using a nearby blanket.

"The others are in danger, so I had to wake you up soon…" Aria said. "Sorry if I did wrong," she said grasping the jug tightly, almost breaking it and shrugged.

Every memory of what happened between Psycho, Aria and Varun strike back to him like lightning and he sighed to himself.

Whatever happened, how much ever angry he was, it had become the opposite now after realisation. He didn't think it was best to tell Aria and breathed out hot air.

"Right… Phobetor, is it?" Varun asked.

Aria was once again shook now. "Yes…" she said but couldn't seem to ask how Varun knew about that.

"I promise not to revert that way again," Varun said.

"It was weird," Aria said, loosening her grip from the jug.

"If you trust me and believe that I can make it right," Varun said and put his hand out towards Aria. "Give me the stone-gem, your choice it is."

"I better be at the good-girl list for this, this year," Aria said and lent Varun the stone.

Varun heard her but didn't even smile back or look her straight in the eye. He just couldn't do it.

Varun seemed to be caught up in deep thought of something. Aria just didn't speak a word and went away into the hall and grabbed the keys from near the TV.

The silence was a new thing between these two friends, but they embraced it as any other moment they ever had together. They knew that the other needed time to think different things through.

Their friends in danger were more important at the moment. And for that they had to be together… however silent the journey could go.
