"Nice? Did he treat you well?"
Bev shrugged. "He did, but..." she said as she sat down next to Jessie. "I had no idea we'd be heading here. This house is enormous!"
Jessie breathed deeply. "I need to discuss things with you."
"Is Marco aware that you'll be here for the duration? When are we going to Marco's? I'm missing him."
Jessie sat up and extended her hand to her sister. Bev raised her eyes to her. "I know you despise these private conversations, but we have to have them right now."
"Okay..." Bev awaited her sister's response.
"Marco and I parted ways."
Bev screamed. "What?!"
Jessie's words caught her off guard. It had been eight years since they had been together. How could things have gone so wrong in just one day? "How did that happen? He was a pleasant person. Did you end your relationship with him because you found someone who is wealthier than he is?" Bev asked.
