Even the tenderness he had shown her at the club was a mystery to her. Perhaps he put up a show to be polite to her in order to marry her because his grandfather wanted it to happen.
She rose to her feet and walked over to the door to lock it.
She returned to the bed, carrying the tray of food. She opened it and laid it on her lap. Her smile was brought on by the scent. She couldn't even thank him for not acting or bringing up the subject of Bev's rudeness to him earlier.
Sierra had installed a computer in Bev's room before Bev arrived, and Jessie knew how difficult it must have been for her to calm Bev down. Tomorrow will be another boring day for her.
As she began to eat, she sighed.
