"Coffee for Mrs. Cooper and Mr. Cooper, please." She shifted her gaze to a young woman, perhaps in her twenties. Her size was petite and she was quite attractive. She had a girlie face rather than a woman's.
She replied, "Yes. Welcome, Mrs. Cooper," she said as she dashed into the room.
Aria smiled as she said, "She brews the finest coffee. Please take my place, Johnny; I'll be right back." Before entering the elevator with Jessie, she was conversing with a tall, skinny man in a white coat. "Please accept my apologies if you believe I talk too much." This time, she appeared to be talking to Jessie.
With a shake of her head, Jessie said. "It's all right. You're just going about your business."
Aria entered the button that would lead them to Din's office. She looked at her phone to see what time it was. "Mr. Cooper told me to expect you between 10 and 12 o'clock, but I didn't expect you to show up here this early." She gave a cautious giggle.
Jessie said, "I prefer being on time." She can't wait for the elevator door to open so she can finish her conversation with Aria. She only came to the company to speak with Din, and she believes they should both break their marriage once and for all so she may resume her normal life.
In her brain, she had already planned what she would say to him. She was inebriated that night and didn't remember anything until she awoke the next morning.
If she could go to court, she would claim that she was exploited because she was inebriated whereas Din was not. He married her against her will and forced her to sign a document when she was drunk.
"We've arrived, Mrs. Cooper," Aria explained. Jessie also wanted Aria to stop referring to her with that strange moniker. She was adamant about not becoming accustomed to it. Not now, and not ever.
As they exited the elevator together, Aria led the way to Din's office.
When they got to the front door, Aria knocked on the door, which had the word "CEO" written on it. Jessie clutched her cross bag securely in her hands, and a butterfly flew down her spine when she heard his voice again. Din Cooper was the last person she expected to see. She'd never thought they would see each other again after she left Vegas.
Her heart began to race and became uncontrollable. She appeared to be experiencing a panic attack.
"Mrs. Cooper," Aria said, but Jessie's thoughts were elsewhere. She didn't return to the real world until Aria touched her.
She let out a gasp.
"Are you all right, Mrs. Cooper?" Jessie smiled and nodded. "You may now enter. Mr. Cooper will send for me if you need anything."
Jessie nodded once more as she pushed open the door with her hand on the doorknob.
When she walked in, the room was flooded with light. It smelled exactly like she had imagined it would. It smelled exactly like Din Cooper. She couldn't get that man's aroma out of her head.
She shut the door behind her and looked in the direction of the window. She saw a figure standing next to the window, peering out. His macho back was a sight to behold. His hands were firmly ensconced in his pants pockets. With a lot on her mind, Jessie stood still and gulped hard as she continued to gawk at his magnificent form.
She was perplexed since she had no idea what was going on. This dude does not appeal to her, but she finds him beautiful and would love to go to bed with him, but she is not interested in marrying him.
Din shifted his gaze towards her. "Mrs. Cooper, you are right on time."
"Do not refer to me like that!" Jessie screamed when he said those words.
Din lowered his gaze on the woman he claimed to despise. Unlike the silver dress she wore at the club in Vegas, the pink sweater she wore covered all of her figures. It was the first time he had seen her with her hair down. He'd seen her with her hair in a ponytail or a bun, and that's how he saw her in pictures and also in Vegas.
He thought she was dashing and lovely. He was the kind of man that all the ladies desired, but Jessie Walker, no, Jessie Cooper, was making it difficult for him.
He took a step towards her. "Why shouldn't I?" With a sweet voice, he inquired. They were both close enough. Her hair was stroked by his nose. He could only smell banana-flavored shampoo.
Half of him wanted to take her hand and pin her to the door so he could kiss her once more. He'd been missing the way she tasted. The other half despised her. At least that's what he thought.
Jessie stepped back three steps from him. She raised her eyes to him. He was so tall that she was sure he could see her brain from her vantage point.
Din took his hands out of his pockets and made his way to his chair. He sat down after pulling it out. "I'd like you to take a seat." Din offered.
As she proceeded to the seat he provided, Jessie clutched her bag tightly and sat down.
She took her bag off and set it on the table. Frowning.
"It won't be long until the coffee arrives." He smirked, but Jessie didn't seem to mind. She only wanted to finish the meeting and go home. "When you first walked into the company, how did you see it? Isn't it dashing?" He leaned very close and said quietly. "I know." He sat back and instantly laid his back on the chair. "So, wifey, tell me what I can do for you?"
Jessie slammed her palm against the table. "Wifey? Mr. Cooper, I am not your wife."
"However, you signed the paper alongside me."
Jessie made a sneering remark. "You took advantage of the fact that I was inebriated that night."
"I did as you said and put the ring on your finger. You requested that I take you to the wedding, and I did so. I'm not sure how that's my fault."
