After the cave's entrance was sealed, John began to panic. Further, with both hands, he grabbed the back of his head and started pacing back and forth, "Shit, what the fuck just happened? Why does this sh*t always seem to happen to me? What are we gonna do? Oh man, this is messed up. How are we going to escape this cave? I can't move that huge boulder." John then snapped out of his panic state as he remembered his grandfather, who was still on the ground.
John crouched down and said, "Grandpa, what are we gonna do? Stand up and get us outta here."
Leonidas groaned from the pain he was feeling. "I... can't move my legs. Decker injected me with more venom when we were on the flying ship. Damn, if you weren't here, I would have eviscerated him. However, I made a promise to your mother that I'd protect you." *Cough, cough*
John then put his head down, as he was feeling sad and miserable. "You're right, grandpa; I was useless, and I shouldn't have come with you."
*sniff*
"I am sorry"
John then looked around the cave, which was so dark that a normal person would not even be able to see their own hand; however, John was a vampire, and his eyes adjusted themselves to the environment, and he was able to see everything like it was daytime. John looked up, and he saw that this part of the cave was full of big and small rock-type icicles that he used to see on TV, which are also called stalactites. The cave is big and very spacious, and he saw that there were multiple passages in the cave.
"See if you can move the boulder, boy; the sooner we can escape this place, the better." Leonidas said while groaning in pain.
"Yes grandpa"
John went up to the huge boulder and pressed both of his hands against it. He then pushed with all of his might; however, the boulder did not budge for an instant. Leonidas saw John's effort; he did not expect much from the boy and had already lost all hope when they closed the huge boulder. He almost did not have any energy in his body, and he knows that the remaining energy that he has is not enough to destroy the huge boulder.
John kept pushing the huge boulder with everything he had, but he also noticed that it was pointless. He fell to his knees, and tears began to stream down his face. He turned his head to look at his grandfather and said, "I am sorry, grandpa, I am totally useless."
Leonidas lay motionless on the ground. He said nothing and simply closed his eyes to focus his energy to slow down the poison in his body. John then wiped the tears from his eyes; he wanted to try again, but then he and Leonidas simultaneously heard loud footsteps approaching them.
A huge figure then came out of one of the passages; it was taller than 7 feet and had a huge club in its hands. Its skin has a rough gray color, razor-sharp teeth, and a big and long nose. John's eyes stretched as this tall, hunched creature walked to their position. The troll stopped when he saw the two figures. The creature's body was covered with the skin of humans and animals. It looked at Leonidas, who was still lying motionless on the ground, while John was standing near the boulder in complete fear. John has never seen such an ugly and menacing creature in his life. Further, for John, this was the stuff of nightmares and the type of creatures he has only seen in movies. The huge troll looked at Leonidas, and he pointed his finger at him. "Red hair... Leonidas must die, Greyskin hungry." He then looked at John, who wanted to pee his pants. "Boy, yummy snack."
The huge troll then walked to Leonidas, and he could smell the foul stench of the creature approaching ever closer. The troll that goes by the name of Greyskin raised his huge club, ready to smash the vampire lord to a pulp. However, John saw the imminent attack, and without hesitating, he rushed to where Leonidas was lying by pure instinct. Before the club reached Leonidas, who had already accepted his fate, he was surprised when the huge club did not pierce his skin.
*Boom*
After the smoke cleared, the troll looked down on the ground and had a surprised look on his face when there was nobody on the ground. He scratched his face with his finger, looked to his right, and saw John holding his grandfather. *Huff, Huff* John was breathing heavily
"Leonidas looked at John and said, "Why did you save me? Just leave me to die. I am useless in this state."
John then also looked at Leonidas, and he gave him a wry smile. "Father always said that when a friend or family member's shoulder hangs, the other has to hook it for the time being so that both can walk. I know you are one of the strongest vampires, but now you are weak, and it is now up to me to step up, and if we both die, then so be it; then we die together."
John then took out a fire and water elemental stone and used them both together to create a huge cloud of steam in the cave. This move caught the troll off guard, and he began to scream and attack mindlessly. John then picked up his grandfather and used this chance to escape. He then ran through a random passage in the cave. John could feel the weight of Leonidas as he carried his grandfather over his shoulder. "I have been training for this," he thought.
*Eek*
When John arrived in the next section of the cave, he got a huge fright. The whole area was covered with bones. John saw a large amount of human and animal bones and skeletons.
"What are you screaming for? You are going to give our position away." *Cough, cough*
"Sorry, grandpa, but we gotta escape this hellish place." John then ran further into the cave aimlessly; he did not know where to go; he just knew that he had to get away from the troll. "Damn, this place stinks; I can't die in a place like this," he thought. John then thought that he had gotten away from the troll and used the opportunity to catch his breath.
After a few hours, John then heard the large footsteps of the troll. "Where are the ants hiding? Greyskin likes to play hide and seek." John then took his grandfather off of his back, and they both took cover behind the large number of bones.
The troll came in the same area where they were located; it carried the huge club on his shoulder while it looked around for its prey. The troll then searched the bones for a few minutes until it got frustrated and began to thrash everywhere using its club. "Come out…Greyskin bored and hungry".
John then became afraid when he saw the troll acting crazy. He stepped back and accidentally stepped on a small piece of bone.
*Snap*
The sound of the bones breaking was enough to catch the troll's attention, and he turned his head in the direction of the noise and saw John. The troll then grinned evilly, "Found you." The troll then rushed to their position, and John began to panic. "What are we going to do, grandpa? We're gonna die…"
Tears began to run down his cheeks. "I don't wana die grandpa"
*cough, cough*
"Shut up, boy, and help me up." John then helps Leonidas get into a sitting posture. Leonidas then slowly raised his right arm and shakingly pointed his right hand's index finger in the direction of the troll. A torch flame then emerged and started to rotate at an extreme speed, called the "scorch beam."
A high-speed fire beam went straight through the troll's right shoulder. The troll had never experienced this kind of pain. Further, the troll fell to the ground and screamed. Leonidas then looked at John and said, "I used the last remaining energy; you have to use this opportunity to escape."
John whipped the tears from his face and then ran to his grandfather. He picked Leonidas up and ran directionlessly.
While John was running with Leonidas on his back, he saw a hole in the wall. He noticed that the hole was not big enough for the troll to enter, and he saw this as an opportunity to escape the troll. John had to crouch while dragging his grandfather deeper into the tunnel.
After at least 20 minutes, they came to a small secret area in the cave. This part of the area was very spacious, and John could stand up, stretch, and walk comfortably. John then found a good spot to place Leonidas upright. He then walked around and said, "I wonder who dug this place", His words were not even cold when he saw a skeleton sitting in the corner "Oh, it was probably you. Thank you, kind sir". John afterwards told Leonidas everything Decker said while he was unconscious, about how many days he would attack the castle to kill his family members.
Leonidas then coughed a mouthful of black blood. He then stared at John for a moment. "I think this is the end for us; my whole family is probably going to die if everything is going as Decker planned."
John then walked to where his grandpa was sitting, and he put his right hand on his shoulder and looked his grandfather in the eyes. "Don't worry, grandfather, we're gonna bust out of this hell hole, save our family, and kick Decker's ass, facts."
