Chereads / GINNY / Chapter 3 - 2

Chapter 3 - 2

The visit to the hospital didn't take as long as it used to because it was only two sisters left. They were both out of the doctor's office within twenty minutes. Doctor Donavon, Mrs. Dee, as the girls liked to call her, said the same thing she always said to their parents after the virginity test, "You must be a proud mother, your girls are still virgins." It always sounded innocent but it was laced with disgust and pity and a bit of anger.

Mrs. Dee loved the girls like her own kids, especially Ginny. She couldn't understand why their parents felt that it was necessary to treat them the way they did.

After saying their good byes, Ginny quickly exited the hospital hoping to avoid a certain doctor who happened to be a man. With their mother tailing them and keeping a close watch on them, she didn't want to give her something to report back to her already fuming father. That, of cause, would come after she had humiliated her in front of the hospital and all the way back home.

They were almost out of the hospital grounds when...

"Miss Osunde?!"

Ginny grabbed her sister's hand and dragged her with her. She wanted to run but she didn't want it to be so obvious after all they saw each other often at the hospital when she came for her part-time job.

"Hey! No need to rush me, we can take our time..." Nissy complained.

"We have to go! Quickly!" Ginny whispered to her sister as she increased her pace.

Nissy was about to complain some more when she heard someone calling,

"Miss. Osunde?!...Miss. Osunde?!"

"Ooooo," Nissy said with realization of her sister's sudden urgency. Being the curious 'don't pass me by' type she was, she couldn't resist looking back at the man calling for her sister's attention.

"Don't look back, Sis."

"Not bad," Nissy commented with a mischievous smile. "He's catching up fast though."

"Miss. Osunde? Wow! You're fast," the man said rushing to block their way.

The girls stopped abruptly, there was no way they could avoid him now.

Ginny greatest him respectfully, "Good morning, doctor Freeman? We're in a hurry so if you would excuse us..."

"But I was waiting to take you home, I have finished my shift fifteen minutes ago. I would really love to drive you home today." Doctor Freeman said with so much enthusiasm it was making her seem like a bad person.

"I'm grateful but that won't be necessary, doctor Freeman. I'm sorry you had to wait for so long."

Nissy cleared her throat and smiled when she had gained their attention.

"Ohh! My apologies, I was too excited I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Sean Freeman, you must be Miss. Osunde's other sister," he stretched out his hand for Nissy to shake.

"Nice to meet you Mr. Sean Freeman. I'm Glynnis, Ginny's third sister," Nissy shook his hand with a smile. Ginny had told her so little about this gentleman, especially about how handsome he was.

Their mother who had stopped to talk to an acquaintance of hers caught up at that moment and clear her throat.

"Good morning, Mrs. Osunde." Sean greeted their mother.

"Morning," she answered as she appraised him from head to toe and back again.

"Thank you so much for the offer, Doctor Freeman, but we are alright. You should go home and rest. Goodbye," Ginny was about to go around him when he blocked them again.

"Wait. Ginny, I-I don't want to rush you into anything but...have you thought about what I said to you the other day?" Sean asked nervously.

"No. I alre..." Ginny was about to remind him that she had already gave him her answer but he cut her off.

"No need to rush, take your time. I'm ready to meet your father to get his permission too. No pressure. I will see you around then. Nice to finally meet you Ma, Miss."

With that, he was gone like the wind, leaving Ginny feeling bad again. She was expecting some scolding from her mom but all she said when she looked at her was,

"So that's the new doctor... Let's go girls."

The way she had said that first statement was like she had heard something about the young doctor and she approved. This troubled Ginny even more than the scolding and humiliation she was expecting.

Nissy nor Ginny didn't feel like going back home immediately. Nissy had to see Grace and her husband before she left for Lagos the next day, so they decide to stop by on their way home.

All three of them arrived at the gate before lunch but their mother didn't go in. She had to go back home and prepare lunch for her husband so she left the girls as they entered their sister's house.

"What a pleasant surprise, Nissy, Ginny!" Grace exclaimed upon seeing her sister's at her door.

"We thought we would stop by on our way back home from the hospital cause I'm leaving tomorrow morning," Nissy filled her in as they hugged and walked inside.

Inside the house was cool, relieving them from the brutal sun they had to walk under from the hospital.

"I'm so thirsty and exhausted!" Nissy declared as she threw herself on a sofa.

"Me too. I will go get us some cold water from the kitchen," Ginny said as she put her bag down and headed for the kitchen.

"Water!" Nissy exclaimed as if she couldn't believe what her sister was getting for her. "I don't want water! Get me juice or wine or even better , a beer."

Both Grace and Ginny gasped at the mention of beer from their sister's mouth. Obviously, alcohol was strongly against in their household, so to hear Nissy requesting it in a her sister's house who happened to be their pastor's daughter-in-law was beyond puzzling.

"Urgg! Quite looking at me as if I said something sinful!" Nissy rolled her eyes at them.

"But, Nissy? You…" Nissy didn't wait for Ginny to finish as she laughed at their reactions.

"I was just joking. Jeez, you two are so uptight, I swear you are more like our parents that me and Gloria. Mom and dad must be proud," Nissy went on laughing.

Ginny looked away as she thought of how her relationship with her parents had been lately. She wished she could make them proud someday though she wasn't looking forward to getting together with any man for some years to come.

"Nissy!" Grace exclaimed with a laughing voice, "If mom or dad heard you, they would scold you to no end."

Ginny smiled and left for the kitchen to get a water for herself and juice for her sister.

Grace had a cleaner who came three to four times a week. She didn't want a stay-in maid and the cleaner was hired because of her now bulging stomach. She wanted to do everything herself but the her baby belly was restricting some movements. Whenever she met a challenging task when the cleaner wasn't around, she would call her parents and asked for her sister to come help her.

It had been happening a lot lately, so Ginny mostly spent her afternoons with her sister while her husband was at work, but she never slept over. Ginny didn't want to admit it but she wasn't as comfortable around her brother-in-law as her sisters.

He was an easy going person, very kind and caring as was expected of him as a church leader's son.

Ginny couldn't quite put her finger on it but there was something about her brother-in-law that made her uncomfortable around him. It was a bad and exhausting feeling especially because she had no idea why she felt that way around such a good man.

After their refreshments and a little rest on the comfortable sofas, Glynnis had much to tell her elder sister about her stay in Lagos.

This was the first time they were seeing each other freely with their parents since her arrival two days prior.

She had not had a chance to tell her elder sister about her new boyfriend.

"Ginny? Your baby's starving," Grace whined.

"What? When was the last time you fed her?" Ginny's overreaction over her sister's unborn child was even funnier than Grace's whinnying.

"Breakfast…"Grace said with a fake guilty look.

"What! My baby girl must be starving!" She leaned over and caressed her sister's baby belly and spoke to it like she could see the baby, "Don't worry my precious, I will get you something good to eat right away," Ginny hopped off the sofa and rushed off to the kitchen to prepare lunch, ignoring her other sister's wide eyes and Grace's shouts about the baby not being a girl but probably a boy.

Grace had refused to know the gender of the baby, she wanted to be surprised on her delivery day. Ginny knew she was hopping for a boy cause her husband wanted a boy, so she would tease her by calling her belly a girl.

Ginny got busy right away, humming as she prepared lunch for herself and her sisters. It wasn't going to take long because there was ready stew in the fridge.

She was so focused on her work she didn't notice someone entering the kitchen using the garage door behind her.

The person watched her silently with lust and unfiltered desire in his eyes. How he wished they were the only ones in the house. One day soon he was going to claim her.
