The bell rang as I was processing the new information, a witch sister? A vampire brother? What a weird family. Mrs. Livingstock came in with a furious face on,
"Get your books out NOW!" Mrs. Livingstock yelled as every student panicked and got their books out "Page 467, chapter 9, get to work!"
"Damn..."I said to Alan
"Bad day I guess..." he replied
"NO PARTNERS!" She yelled across the room
The rest of the class was dead silent as we worked on our math, Alan and I worked together in silence. After our silence was interrupted by the loud bell reverberating against the four walls of the classroom when everyone shot up and left without hesitation, Alan and I left behind everyone when we ran into Kimberly in the hall, we walked over to our lockers switched out books, we warned Kimberly about the she-devil in math because it was her next period as Alan and I walked to history (Alan and I share every class together and only have 5 of the 7 class periods of the day with all three of us).
History was boring but survivable along with the rest of the day, after the final bell rang we walked to Alan's house, "I want you to meet the rest of my family..." Alan said before opening the door and walking me in, His house was a small cabin outside the town border, it was tucked within the forest on the west side of town, I heard "vampire" and thought of an old creepy mansion but this worked too...
Alan took my hand and said, "she doesn't know you're here, she might freak out..."
"'Freak out' how?" I asked
"I might have to get you out, type of freak, by the way, my mom is a witch..." he said moving to the kitchen can his family get any more complicated?
We walked into the kitchen to see a decently young woman cooking something that smelled amazing.
"Hey, mom..." Alan called to the woman as she turned around
"Hey- is that a human? she asked
"Yes.. mom this is-" Alan started
"I don't care who she is, does she know?" His mom asked
"Yes," Alan said
(the next couple of lines will have Latin words, poena meaning "pain" and Scutum meaning "shield")
"Poena!" she said as I get excruciating pain all over my body
"Mom stop!" Kimberly yelled "Scutum!" And all the pain when away
"Unshield her, she knows too much" Alan's mom said
"No, she is my friend and you aren't going to kill her," Kimberly said
"Mom, leave her alone!" Alan said showing fangs in defense
"You like her, don't you?" She asks
"more than I would like to, yes" he responded helping me up
"I'm Shea..." I said grabbing Alan's arm because I was weak to the knees
"Doris..." she replied then went back to cooking
"I- I'm sorry, I should get going," I said heading for the door with my legs still feeling like spaghetti
"No wait, how about a rundown about us because you don't know about supernatural beings?" Kimberly said
"Ya, ok..." I said
"You have to keep it a secret though..." She said
"I can keep a secret," I said as we went to the kitchen table and sat down.
