I woke up next to Alan, not on the couch, but in my bed, When I looked over at Alan he was smiling at me,
"What are you doing up so early?" I ask rubbing my eyes,
"I don't sleep," He says
"Right..." I said embarrassed
"You're fine" he chuckled and kissed my forehead
"I'm not used to you being... not human yet..." I said with hesitation
"I'm not used to being with a human. Guess everyone has something to get used to..." He said
We got up and went to the kitchen, I started making breakfast, I knew he needed blood but, I don't have any so instead I offered him my wrist, "Drink, you need it.." I said as he looked at me with confusion, "I- I can't take it, I can't and won't stop, plus I survive with animal blood silly." He said lowering my wrist. After I ate we went to that abandoned barn again, when we walked in the doors there were people there, I didn't recognize them, there were about 6 of them, one female and five males, but Alan seemed to when he threw me behind him and said,
"Why are you here?"
"Because... We don't need to tell you, you have some nerve not sharing your new meal with us by the way..." The first guy said walking toward us
"Ya," The girl said
"Wait, darling, we mustn't forget, we are strangers to her... I'm James" The guy said
"Bea, Beatrice," the girl said
the rest of the men stood back and didn't say anything
"Now where were we?" he said running over to us
Alan jumped onto James as Bea took over, she grabbed me and told James to let Alan go "So he can watch his other toy die" as James let go Bea bit into my neck, I didn't scream, I couldn't, I was so lost in the fact there were more, but these didn't seem like vampires, they were different.
"Alan watched in horror as my vision went blurry, "Alan!" I tried to scream before tumbling to the ground.
I woke up in the hospital, I had I.Vs and a bandage on my neck, I looked around for Alan, but he wasn't here... I sat alone in a hospital room for over an hour when the doctor walked in,
"Oh good, you're awake, I wasn't sure you would, almost all of your blood was drained, you were attacked by animals, do you remember anything of the event?" The doctor asks
"Animals?" I started but remembered if I said anything about it Alan would be caught
"Yes, unless you remember anything different..." the doctor said curiously
"No, no it was animals, I was at an abandoned barn, there were bears or wolves, I don't know... It was a blur." I said covering it up "Is my- my boyfriend here?" I asked
"No, he called us, but by the time we got there you were alone, bleeding out..." The doctor answered looking concerned
All of that was crazy, I couldn't process it, that's when I realized... I don't have Alan's number, I can't call him, Fuck!
