Remus followed his gaze to where Lauren was pointing and lo-and-behold, there was the woman always on his mind, Heather Parker, looking not a hair out of place in the Center Heights.
“Yeah, but what is she doing here?”
“Probably the same as us,” shrugged Lauren, staring a little before a sly sort of smile started to curl her lips as Heather made her way towards this exact coffee shop. “Scratch that, definitely the same as us. It’s fate.”
“Coincidence.”
“Sematics,” Lauren brushed off.
“Semantics.”
“Yes, that, exactly. See? You have to talk to her now!”
“I don’t have to do anything.” Remus crossed his arms, refusing to turn around, even though he heard the door open and just knew it was Heather.
Lauren scowled at him before squaring her shoulders and getting a determined little gleam in her eyes, proceeding to down the rest of her coffee.
“I’m going to go say hi then. I want to see what about her’s got you all defensive.”
