It wasn’t that her work as Heather was hard, or at least, Haley didn’t find it hard like some of the others did. She complained a bit to keep up appearances but really, she had worked longer and harder shifts at her parents’ deli.
There was nothing quite like waking up at five AM to help with the week’s delivery, moving crates and boxes and more, all things that weighed a ton, not to mention the huge cuts of meat that needed to be refrigerated. Made harder by the fact that they didn’t have a fancy schmancy crane to do all the heavy lifting for them.
So, yeah, working for the Parkers was practically a cakewalk in comparison.
Normally, Haley worked five to six days a week, for either two or three meals. Between those she had about an hour or two for a break or a meal and then she had to do things like set the dining table before carting out plates and offering more water or wine.
