"Romantic, you ass," Leigh's lips pressed together deeply, annoyed. "Don't call me that again. If not, I will smash your head into pieces."
"Oww, how romantic," replied Vhaken in an enthusiastic voice, he cupped his palms and held them tightly in front of his chest, smiling broadly.
"You!" Leigh's eyes glared sharply at Vhaken. Her warnings were considered even more romantic by him, making her even more annoyed.
"Okay, okay, you two stop bickering in front of me, now go back to work, otherwise, when Farley comes and sees you hurling insults at each other, I can't help you, now go" Sentia pushed Leigh's body and walked away from Vhaken, she glanced at Vhaken , seeing him still wearing a mischievous smile, she could only shake her head.
Days passed, days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months. Leigh is busy with the Skystar Terrace Project. She was very dedicated to the project. Together with Farley, the two collaborate very well. Leigh came up with brilliant ideas while Farley gave opinions that stunned Leigh. Because the opinions given can perfect her brilliant idea. And the client is very satisfied every time they discuss the stages in building the project.
Leigh herself spends more time in the field. Seeing and directly guiding each building design she created and perfected by Farley. She is very happy with the progress she has achieved now. Years of work experience was nothing compared to what she felt right now.
Being able to win the project at the last second, which she said was luck. How could it not be, from the existing design she got from Sentia, she only added a few ideas. But that was actually what enabled her to win the project. Apart from the scandal of terminating her employment from her previous company, which emerged during the last meeting. But she is clear, sometimes she thinks that was also one of the triggers for her winning the Skystar Terrace project.
She remembers Mr. Zorion very well, revealing how he knew what happened behind her termination at her previous company, which she herself did not know. And that reason made her shocked and sad. How disappointed she was, the real reason, was just because her division head wanted to replace her with his niece. A bitter smile appeared on her lips the second the reason was revealed.
But at least, the hurt was avenged by winning the big Skystar Terrace project. And here she is, standing in front of a building that is still only a quarter finished. A smile appeared on her lips. How proud she is of the achievements she has now achieved. Years of hard work paid off. Working in a large architectural company, winning big projects, working tirelessly to realize and perfect the designs that have been created.
Another thing that colored her days was that bickering she had with Vhaken always happened every time they met. Sometimes Leigh wanted to throw a fist at his face, who always smiled mischievously at her. When he succeeded in making herself very annoyed. But apart from that, she knows that he just wants to make the work atmosphere not monotonous but full of laughter and relaxation.
Unfortunately, what Leigh didn't know was that Vhaken did that on purpose, to steal attention from her. He tried everything he could to get his feelings read by Leigh. But the thing that frustrates him is that Leigh tries to distance herself and is always introspective whenever Caely is around. He realized that Leigh was indirectly trying to unite him with Caely. And that makes him despair sometimes. He really hoped that Leigh could see the bright side of the attention he was giving. But that didn't happen, instead she always pushed or poked Caely every time they in argued.
Until one fine night. Leigh's doorbell rang. Leigh's eyebrows knitted together at the sound of the bell, it was eleven o'clock at night. Who comes at the time people are going to sleep.
Leigh, suspicious and careful, got up from her desk in her bedroom. Walk slowly out of the room. Apart from the lights in her room still shining brightly, she left all the lights in the house turned off, at least giving a signal to those who were out there, to understand that the occupants of the house were asleep.
But what Leigh didn't know was that the light in her room was still on, which made the guest standing at her door ring the doorbell.
Leigh continued walking, before she reached her front door. She took the umbrella stored in a jug near the door. As a beating tool, if something undesirable happens.
After that, Leigh approached the door and looked out through the small glass hole in the door. To see who is outside. What surprised Leigh when she looked outside was that the guest standing outside at this time was none other than Vhaken. Her brows furrowed deeper. 'What is he doing here, this late?' She asked wonderingly in her mind.
However, her anticipation immediately dropped. She put back the umbrella he was holding, back to the jug. Then she opened the door "Ken, what are you doing here? It's already late, shouldn't you go home and rest?" Leigh asked very attentively. Despite the annoyance he always gave her, he was very caring towards her. She considers Vhaken a very good friend. Without him, maybe the hard days working on the Skystar Terrace project would be hard to go through. In fact, every time he encouraged her in a way that only he could do, encouraging in an annoying way.
Vhaken's face immediately lit up brightly when the door to Leigh's house opened, and behind the door stood the person he had been waiting for. In a state of staggering, drunk "I miss you Leigh, that's why I'm here" at the end of his words, Vhaken stepped in without Leigh inviting him in. His unsteady steps made him almost fall. Luckily, Leigh responded quickly. Holding his body, she carried him into the living room, but before that, she had locked the door first.
"Why are you drinking this much huh? Where and with whom did you drink? What makes you drink this much? I didn't remember you could get this drunk with just a few glasses of alcohol. How much alcohol did you drink?" Leigh continued to ask questions the whole way she led Vhaken to the sofa in the living room.
"I'll be honest with you Leigh. I like you, I really like you. But your attitude of not knowing, and your behavior of continuing to push me with Caely, makes me frustrated." Vhaken mumbled uncertainly and his words were enough to make Leigh gasp.
Luckily, she had managed to get Vhaken to sit on the sofa. Otherwise, perhaps accidentally, she would immediately let go of her grip, and cause him to fall on the floor.
Leigh was very surprised to hear Vhaken's statement. Even though he said it when he was drunk, the proverb says that what someone who is drunk says is the honest and true.
The thing that made Leigh not believe it was, what she thought all along. The interaction between her and Vhaken was limited as collegue, nothing more. Instead, she tried in various ways to unite Vhaken with Caely. At least, she made Caely's dream come true, which she once expressed her heart to, and begged her to help her attract the attention of the man she really loves. But what was happening now was beyond the wild imagination that had ever crossed her mind.
It struck her head very hard. She stumbled backwards, fortunately her mind was still working. She reached over to the sofa, the left side of where Vhaken was sitting. She was still trying to embrace what was going on in her mind, which was now in turmoil. She shook her head and muttered, "Are you joking right, Ken?" she asked uncertainly. She still didn't look at Vhaken.
Her small mumble got a response from Vhaken who replied "No, I'm not joking" speaking slowly in his drunken state. But it was clear enough for Leigh to hear it. Which made her even more distrustful.
"Vhaken, you can't do this" her head shook violently. Her eyes were still staring blankly at the floor, deep in thought.
"Why can't I?" Vhaken asked while frowning. When he was drunk, he really didn't look like a drunk person. He could answer every question Leigh asked, even though it was barely audible.
"I really like you, Leigh, from the first time we met," said Vhaken, frankly. His head swayed right and left, slowly. His gaze was unfocused. "It was love at first sight."
"Vhaken stop this madness" Leigh had lost her mind. She didn't think she was dealing with a drunk person. She spoke like they were having a small bickering like usual, a typical style that always happened every time they met.
