Chapter 57 - You need to wide your pretty eyes more, my love

"Please My Lord, I really don't know, if that-that…." Her words were cut off by Kendric.

"Don't worry" he said in a deep and terrible voice " You no need to wait longer, in short time you will fulfil what you must do. You gave me no choice, but to seal you from the outside world".

Instantly, Lancaste's head shot up, her eyes wide opened, shocked, and full of horror. If she was sealed here, how could she perceive innocent souls. She will slowly but surely rotten, become old and dying.

"Please my lord, forgive me. I promise not to curse with forbidden magic spells again. Please, I'm begging you" this time she hit her forehead even harder, a thumping sound was heard. Even her forehead started to bleed.

But that doesn't make Kendric, soften. He turned around and walked away. With a wave of his hand, a seal appeared on the door of the room. Even the sound of Lancaste's whining was immediately silent behind the seal. From the inside, she can see clearly what was happening outside.

Seeing Kendric walking away, she hurriedly got up from her place. Run towards the door of the room. Unfortunately, the seal blocked her steps, her body collided with the seal. Having no other choice, she pounded on the seal with her fist. Her efforts were in vain. Because from the outside, the seal makes whatever is inside turn into a dark, mossy, and disgusting cave wall.

If anyone comes, what they found was a cave that now looked empty and uninhabited.

Lancaste continued to pound on the invisible seal wall, even though Kendric had walked far, in the hope that he would turn around and be merciful to her once again. Unfortunately, her hopes were dashed when Kendric's figure disappeared at the end of the bend in the cave, which took him to the mouth of the cave.

Her body fell to the ground, sad, disappointed, and angry. She shouldn't be tempted by an innocent soul, carried by a man she didn't know. Regrets are meaningless now. Because now she has to languish and rot in this cave.

Suddenly, the sound of clicking tongues roared and echoed in the cave room. She was stunned, her head raised, looking for the source of the sound.

There she saw the figure of a woman, a beautiful face unworn by time. Thousands of years had passed, the last time they met. She stood arrogantly, her gaze full of scorn, and the grin on her lips gave the impression of how disgusting she was toward her.

She once held the title of the most powerful wizard of all time. But just because of one mistake, her life ended, and she was trapped in this cave. And all of that because of the woman who was now standing in front of her.

The face that was previously full of guilt, changed drastically to unformed anger. She immediately stood up, her eyes sharp. If only she still had her full powers. She must have recited a spell, so that the woman standing in front of her would die horribly, commensurate with the suffering she had caused her to date.

Her lips were closed but trembling, holding back the rising anger. Her face was bright red.

Before she could utter insults. The woman standing in front of her broke her speech. "It's a pity to see you in this state" sarcastic words that sneered deeply lash toward her. Her tone was flat, callous, even unguilty.

"I still remember, your glory days. You stand with your head held high, proud and arrogant. But now, look at you" her head tilted to the right, her eyes scanned Lancaste from head to toe, which looked dull, dirty, messy and disgusting. But her eyes, revealed a dangerous glint.

"What do you want, Jaelyn?" Lancaste asked, speaking while pressing her jaw, teeth grinding could be heard, indicating how much anger she was holding back and was ready to explode at any time, wanting to tear the woman in front of her to shreds. Unfortunately, that won't happen because it's unlikely to happen, with the way things are now.

"I can get you out of here. And you are free to do whatever you want to do." Jaelyn spoke as if there were no enemies between them. She walked casually towards the cave wall and leaned against it. But her gaze was still, looking towards Lancaster.

"Get out of here, I don't need your help," replied Lancaste, her body shaking violently, she gripped her palms tightly, until they turned deathly pale. Blood even flowed out from between her clenched fingers.

"Are you sure?" Her eyes glanced at Lancaster while grinning mischievously.

"Don't think, I don't know what you want from me. Don't dream, I will never give that to you, over my dead body." Lancaste's face turned even redder. Her eyes sparkled dark and sharp. Staring deadly daggers at Jaelyn.

Both Jaelyn and Kendric wanted the same thing from her. But with different goals. Of the two at the moment, she prefers to leave it to Kendric. At least she knew that he was not as cunning as the woman in front of her now.

And she had already experienced Jaelyn's cunning. That's why she ended up in this cave now. And she won't make the same mistake twice. No, she would never do that again, no matter how stupid, no matter how attractive the offer she offered. She wouldn't fall for her advances once again.

Jaelyn's eyes flashed briefly, looking disappointed, but she quickly wiped it away. She stood up straight "Think carefully, I'll come again, until then" after saying that Jaelyn's figure disappeared from before Lancaste. The cave was once again silent. There was only the sound of heavy breathing coming out of Lancaste's mouth.

The dignity she showed in front of Jaelyn disappeared instantly, her body slumped to the ground. Her hands were clenched into fists, releasing the anger she had been holding in while facing Jaelyn.

The next morning, Leigh woke up with a heavy head, as if it had been hit by a heavy object. Before her eyes opened, her hands rose and held both sides of her head, which was throbbing with pain. It felt like the blood vessels in her head were about to burst and flood her half-functioning brain.

Enduring the pain, opening her eyes, she sat up. Her face turned towards the nightstand, reaching for the teapot and cup there, to drink. After drinking, her throat feels a little fresh, with difficulty. she dragged her body to the back, so she could rest her head on the headboard, her eyes closed.

Miraculously, the pain in her head gradually subsided. Until she felt like she could get out of bed. She opened her eyes, took a deep breath and exhaled. She got out of bed, starting her daily routine.

When she had finished showering, she went into her bedroom. Somehow, she felt something was different, but she couldn't guess what it was. She looked around the room, trying to find what made her feel different, unfortunately there was nothing different, everything looked the same. In the end she ignored it and continued on preparing herself to leave for work.

"Leigh, I thought you wouldn't come to work today, you looked how tired you were last night," said Sentia from the end of the corridor, when Leigh had just arrived and was about to walk to her desk.

"I'm fine, you see" Leigh turned her body to the right and left. While smiling broadly. Want to show her that she looks energetic.

"Yeah, I can see that" Vhaken's voice suddenly sounded behind Leigh. He also just arrived and heard the conversation between Leigh and Sentia. And then chimed in.

"Hmm, I didn't see you at the front earlier, when did you arrive?" Leigh asked in surprise, because she was absolutely sure that when she arrived at the front, there was no figure of him walking towards the office door.

"You need to wide your pretty eyes more, my love," teased Vhaken, smiling mischievously, "I'm right behind you," this time he was standing next to Leigh, waiting for her retort.

"I'm not your love! Don't just that," said Leigh angrily. Vhaken called her like they were lovers and she didn't want to make her friendship with Caely get worse and become distant, especially since she knew very well how much she fell in love head over hilt with Vhaken. She felt like she wanted to smash his head of the man standing next to her against the wall, so that he would realize that there was a woman's heart waiting for his love in return.

"Oops, my bad" Vhaken grinned, the answer he already knew he would get. "But I really like calling you that Leigh, it sounds romantic you know" the grin on his lips spread even further until his eyes, which looked full of evil sense.
