The sky was already dark when they arrived at Terrazen City, it's 1.15AM in the morning. The wind blew coldly, rustling the feathers on Leigh's soft, smooth skin. She stood at the plane door, ready to disembark. inhaling the night air that felt fresh in her tiny nose. She wants to fill the cavities in her lungs so that they become fresh. Her chest puffed forward as she took a deep breath. Then turn down, as she exhales. Her lips parted, smiling broadly.
"Hey, what's wrong?" asked Vhaken, curious and worried, seeing Leigh standing still in front of the plane door, it gave the impression that she didn't want to get off the plane.
"Nothing," Leigh answered briefly, and her feet immediately stepped out of the plane.
The two of them walked side by side into the arrival's hall. They don't need to wait for luggage, because the luggage they bring can fit in cabin baggage. They immediately left the arrival airport gate.
The two walked towards the car park, where Vhaken's car was parked. The dark gray coupe car is in the third row from the parking entrance. As usual Vhaken opened the passenger door for Leigh. Which was received with a sweet smile on her lips "You are always a gentleman huh!" Leigh climbs in while hearing Vhaken's reply.
"Of course, I do. I will even become sweeter to a beautiful woman like you" he winked mischievously at Leigh, after which he closed the door with a soft thud. Walk around the front of the car, open the driver's door, and hop in nimbly.
As soon as the car engine starts, a roaring sound like a racing car can be heard. And the dark gray Coupe drove off, leaving a large parking lot, half filled with cars, which were still parked there.
"Are you hungry?" Vhaken asked when he left the airport area. His face looked forward, but his eyes glanced at Leigh. Waiting for her answer.
"Can we just go home, I need to rest. And tomorrow morning we must go to the office. If we skip. I think Sentia will swallow us alive," the reason she gave was indeed what she felt. If she could, in that very second, she would like to be able to lie down on her bed at her home that always made her comfortable.
"Okay," replied Vhaken, nodding in agreement. He just didn't want Leigh to go to bed in hungry. Because when she came down to joined with all the participants, she was the last person to arrive. Even then, she was running while panting for breath. Before getting on the plane. He asked if she had eaten. And she answered yes. And this time, he wanted to make sure that she had eaten. Unfortunately, the answer he received was not convincing enough for him.
No choice, Vhaken drove the car a little faster, because the road was quiet, there weren't too many cars, at dawn like this.
It only takes no more than an hour for them the arrived. Vhaken's car had stopped, parked in front of Leigh's house. He turns off the car engine. Then open the door and getting out, he walked a step back, opened the back door of the car, and grabbed Leigh's suitcase. Pulled it out, put it on the road, then pushed it towards the front door of the house.
Leigh was waiting at the door of her house, smiling broadly at him. "Thank you, Ken, it was a wonderful trip that we have" she said while receiving her suitcase from Vhaken.
"Anything for you dear" he replied with the same big smile as Leigh. "Do you need me, to pick you up tomorrow morning. You know, I don't want Sentia to scream and make my ears hot because of her train-like ramblings, long and long and said how could you left Leigh and not pick her up, blablaaa."
Leigh thought for a moment, wondering. "Okay, if it doesn't bother you" she said with a faint smile on his lips, unsure of her decision. Because they were both tired and needed rest.
"Not at all" replied Vhaken enthusiastically "then see you tomorrow morning. Dream about me, Leigh," he grinned, blinked once, and walked away after receiving a light slap on his upper arm from Leigh, jokingly.
Leigh came into her house after Vhaken's car disappeared around the corner of the house complex. She dragged her suitcase up to her room. Put the suitcase in the corner. Her tote bag is on the table.
She walked to the closet, pulling out her pyjamas to change into. She wanted to take a shower, but her eyes were very sleepy. Besides, before leaving for the airport, she had a shower. So, she thought it should be fine. After finishing change, she immediately walked towards the bed. Lied down, pulled the blanket over herself, covering her body up to her neck. As soon as she closed her eyes. she immediately fell asleep.
While later, In the corner of the room. Where is the suitcase stored, it suddenly gave off a dark red glow. Between the zippers, reddish smoke curled out. More and more, crawling to the floor, crept towards the bed. Slowly but surely, the smoke crept up onto the bed, keep crept up to Leigh's body, covering her body which was hidden under the blanket, that only her head was still visible. The smoke entered her nostrils. The smoke sucked in when Leigh subconsciously took a breath.
Before long, her eyebrows knitted together. Her face sank. Her head tilted to the right, then to the left. Not until there, her body also started to move, like someone who was having a nightmare.
And indeed, she had a nightmare.
She was in the middle of a dense forest, dark and foggy. The atmosphere was tense and cold, making her hug herself. She looked right and left. But all she could see were towering and dense trees. She looked up, the tree leaves almost covered the starless night sky. Pitch black.
She tried to hear the sound. But the only sound she heard was the sound of a crow in the distance. Screeching. Making an already scary and terrible night, even more tense.
She didn't know why she was here. And where exactly is this place. She only knew, from the surroundings, that she was in the middle of the forest. Where is this forest, she had no idea. She tried to walk, along the path. Her steps were careful, the rustling sound was still heard, because what she was stepping on were withered and dried leaves, scattered on the surface of the forest ground.
Her heart was beating fast. Gallop, like a horse racing in a horse racing arena. She strengthened her mind to keep going. Looking for a way out of this tense forest.
She kept walking. What made her even more afraid was that, from both sides, she felt there were red eyes staring at her, as if they were watching her every move. She is clenching her fingers until they turned deathly pale. She tried to feel the pain, in that way she can reassure herself that she is still alive and breathing.
But is it true that she is still alive and breathing now? As time went on, she felt that the breath she was breathing was becoming less and less, the longer it goes on, the more difficult for her to breathe in the air to fill her lungs, which felt like they were being squeezed and losing their function.
Not until there, she began to hear light footsteps behind her. She wanted to look back, to see who it was. Maybe someone who will come to help her. But she hesitated to turn her head. What if this person didn't come here to help her. Then why they are here, in this eerie forest?
The confusion she felt made her body tremble. It wasn't that she felt cold. Because the cold air that is now there is not enough to make her tremble. But it makes her more afraid and anxious.
The sound of a crow she had heard from a distance before. Suddenly it sounded right behind her. She could feel her pulse, throbbing fast. Pumping the blood that flows in her veins. As if it wanted to squirt out.
Her anxiety was increasing. She took a deep breath, daring herself to look back. Slowly she moved her head and body. Her eyes glanced sharply. To capture at least the existing movements. But she failed because her eyes were now focused on whatever was behind her body. When finally, her eyes caught sight of a figure. But the figure didn't look real. it was like a shadow in the mist that crept around it.
In the end the figure she saw was herself. Her eyes were twinkling, her eyebrows knitted deeply. She asked what was going on. Why is there a shadow of herself? Is she dead. No- that's impossible. She tried to remember, the last thing she could remember but her memory seemed to stop, she couldn't remember anything.
