"Mr. Ezra, do you mind if after lunch time you talk to Leigh again, it's lunch time after all. At least we as trainees are not allowed to starve, right?" he cut quickly Ezra word. He was devouring the golden opportunity he got, and he didn't plan to miss out on the opportunity he'd been struggling to get these days.
With a look of embarrassment, and feeling guilty, as the organizer, it is appropriate that he let the trainees have their free time. But he couldn't do anything because it was an order from Kendric.
"Yes you are right, for that Mr. Kendric invited Miss Leigh and you to have lunch at the Royal Dine which is located two blocks from here" he conveyed the message to them with a flat face devoid of emotion.
Vhaken frowned deeply, Royal Dine was one of the most expensive restaurants in Yannick city. All the menus there are unmitigated prices that can feed twenty people in one meal. How rich is that man?
Leigh's face was gloomy. She had no words to say other than disappointed in her heart. She took a deep breath. 'Looks like he doesn't want to let me enjoy some free time without him, uh!' she was furious. She wanted to claw at Kendric's face if only she could do that. at least she was satisfied.
Again, their travel plans failed. They couldn't help but accept Kendric's invitation. How not, because the one who delivered was Ezra.
They walked unsteadily after Ezra. Arriving in front of the lobby, a classy black car was parked there, waiting for them. Ezra opened the back seat door for Leigh. Vhaken himself walked around the back of the car to sit on the other side of the backseat. And Ezra sat in the passenger seat.
They could have just walked as it was only 2 blocks away. But Kendric's orders to Ezra were quite clear. He didn't want Leigh to overheat because the sun was scorching hot today. So, they drive car to the Royal Dine.
Arriving at the Royal Dine. As soon as the car stopped, Ezra rushed out of the car to open the door for Leigh. After that the three walked to the entrance of the restaurant.
A waiter standing at the door, opened the door for them. "Welcome" said the waiter with a big smile on her face.
"Golden room" said Ezra briefly, glancing at the waiter for a moment.
"Please sir, this way," replied the servant, inviting them to follow him.
The Golden room is a special room only for the guest of honor. Only a handful of rich people who order it. Because the room itself is very exclusive. The room was on the 2nd floor. They walked the corridor to the end of the corridor. The waiter politely opened the door slightly. Peeking inside, bowed her head slightly, "Sir, your guest has arrived" she informed the Mister who was already sitting inside.
Kendric only nodded his head once. After getting permission, the waiter opened the door wider, then she stood to the side, to let the other three guests in.
The first to enter was Vhaken, as he entered and saw Kendric. His eyes stared at him with curiosity. He walked casually, towards a seat on the inner side of the chair facing Kendric but not directly in front of him.
The dining table is only for 4 people. Kendric knew and had predicted that Vhaken would go in first, so he would choose the inner side seat, so he sat on the outer side.
Leigh saw Vhaken sitting on the inside, she wished she could swap seats with him. she didn't want to sit face to face with Kendric. But she had no choice, there was no way she could open her voice and ask openly or even in a whisper to Vhaken. Of course, it can be seen directly by Kendric and she will feel more uncomfortable after that. she sat elegantly across Kendric. Her eyes only glanced at him briefly, smiled stiffly at him, then she lowered her head. Tried as much as possible to not stare at him for as long as possible.
Ezra sat next to Kendric, facing Vhaken.
This space looks like a classic but classy style dining room. With one table expensive and big even if only for 4 four. With chairs that are also made of the same material as the table, mahogany. The walls are decorated with paintings by famous painters. Room lighting does not miss the crystal chandelier. Makes the room feel warm and comfortable.
The waiter came inside. Give them four menu books. Then she stood up casually and politely. Asking "Are you going to order right away, or later Sir?" as she spokes he looked at Kendric, giving a diner's polite smile.
"Yes, we will order right away" Kendric answered briefly.
"Leigh what would you like to order?" asked Kendric after a moment of looking at the menu.
Vhaken even though his eyes looked at the menu book, but the corners of his eyes glanced at Kendric. 'Why did he only ask Leigh? am I here just a display?' annoyed buried in his heart.
"Hmm… I don't know what kind of menu here. May I ask ma'am?" she answered Kendric's question, honestly. Then she immediately turned the question to the maid so she wouldn't have to talk to him so much.
Seeing Leigh's reaction, a small smile tugged at Kendric's lips 'Clever diversions and tricks' he knew that Leigh was always avoiding him. This amused him.
"What's on the menu for delight sun grill spring meat?" she asked politely in a flat but sweet voice.
"Ah that, finely chopped beef and then roasted at medium heat, so that it is cooked, not too burnt and not too raw. So it's medium ripe."
"Then I'll order this," Leigh ordered, grateful that the menu she asked for was according to her imagination. "And for the drink, Light Spring Rainbow"
"For me, I ordered the Roasted Chicken grill, with a drink of Vodka," continued Kendric in his casual but domineering style.
And after that Vhaken and Ezra also ordered according to the food they wanted to eat.
After the waiter left, the room fell silent. Nobody spoke. Leigh kept her eyes on the table, lap, left or right, or anything other than Kendric.
Kendric smiled quite widely, he wanted to see to what extent, Leigh would avoid him. A mischievous smile appeared on his handsome face. While waiting for the meal to come, he asked "What do you think of Yannick City, Leigh?
Leigh gasped, she hesitated to raise her head, but it was rude to answer a question to people weren't looking at him. As a result, she looked at Kendric "I don't know, because I haven't had a chance to go around" Leigh replied in a calm and honest voice but seemed sarcastic.
Of course, she was sarcastic, how would she know. If every time she and Vhaken were going to leave, there was always someone blocking in their way. And the person was none other than the one who was now sitting right in front of her.
