The entire pack was stationed on the lawn covered land of the front grounds. It was usually a way of showing respect to the alpha, but that tradition was dropped several generations ago. However, one can be sure the strange scent of their guest was caught by every single wolf within a ten mile radius. Lucian knew that was the reason the entire group was out there waiting for him. His mother exited the car first, followed by himself and William. The truck was parked behind them, but the doors remained closed. The pack bowed in unison to their leader, all but one.
"Hans," Lucian growled, only for the disobedient pack member to growl back, surprising his fellow pack members.
He stepped forward, baring his teeth as his growls intensified. "How dare you disrespect this house and your pack by bringing that cursed abomination here?"
"Stand your ground, Hans. You do not want to get on my bad side," the alpha's growls grew with his rage, his usual baby blue eyes glowing red.
Lenore walked pass her son, stopping directly in front of Hans. William shared another confused look with his enraged boss, shrugging, having no answer to why his mother was getting in the middle of this.
"Hans, you've grown up to be quite a handsome young man. How has it been?"
The entire pack was silent, most having questioning expressions upon their faces. The drama. Hans was about to push her out of the way when all attention fell on the sound of the truck door opening. An eerie silence fell over the group as the door closed, revealing the most beautiful being they had ever laid their eyes upon. Her beauty was rather bright and seemed to glow in the burning midday sun.
"Abomination," Hans bellowed. Before anybody could stop him, he transformed into his wolf form, a very large brown wolf, and headed straight for her.
Nobody moved. The pack watched in disbelief as the woman sidestepped the charging wolf in the blink of an eye. Hans rolled over mid run and raced back towards her. She did the same thing and for almost a full two minutes, she idly dodged every blow, every charge that came in her direction. Some of the members were laughing themself to sickness while some stood by fearfully switching their attention from the ongoing comedy to their Alpha who, by now, was also enjoying the show. He stood beside his agent, arms folded across his barrel chest. Maybe it wasn't such a bad idea inviting her after all.
"Just finish up already," one of the hunters yelled, cheering them on. The others agreed the same manner.
Csilla sighed, timing the angry wolf as it came charging at her for the umpteenth time. Taking a small stance, she pulled her arm back and swung it forward, connecting her small fist with his muscular neck, but not hard enough to kill him. Hans flew backwards landing several feet from her, unconscious. Again, the pack went silent.
"Well, that's enough play for one day," Lenore shrugged. She walked down to where her guest stood, grabbing her arm and pulling her towards the château double doors. As she passed through the pack, several of the unmated males suddenly became uneasy, sporting hungry looks upon their faces.
"Well, now. That is exactly how I reacted on our first meeting. What if she was in heat? We would have a lot of problems on our hands, don't you think?" William chuckled, following behind the pack.
Nobody bothered to even give a second thought to Hans for disrespecting the alpha, especially on the pack house grounds. They all knew the alpha was going to punish him greatly for the series of unlawful problems he caused.
The pack situated themselves within the hall of the building where they usually gathered for meetings. Most had their eyes on the strange woman who single handedly took down one of their strongest hunters with a punch. The sheer embarrassment of it all. Lenore stood on the raised platform beside Csilla, Lucian seated on a throne like chair behind them watching intently. He wasn't even sure what was happening. The older woman turned to face her, transforming into a gray wolf. She circled Csilla, sniffing the air and her every now and then, jumping back and growling or taking in her scent at a much deeper rate. As soon as she returned to her normal form, a younger member of the pack, an omega, covered her nude body with a robe.
"Well," Lucian questioned, wanting to get it over and done with. William shot him a warning glare which he returned vigorously.
"You were right. She is a hybrid." Lenore turned to address her. "Do you know your parents?"
Csilla shook her head. She hadn't the slightest idea what was going on. She was in a room filled with werewolves and they were either afraid or drugged from her scent.
"Alpha blood runs through your veins. One of your parents was an alpha wolf, I'm guessing, your father."
Csilla sighed, not wanting to talk about her family. "I'll tell you what I know."
She sat down on the platform, staring at the floor. "My mother was the alpha for a pack somewhere in the north of London. They call themselves The Guild. My father was clans master to some ancient vampires in the west. the two groups were said to be sworn enemies so even I don't understand how they came to be."
"Wait, so you're telling us, this entire pack of wolves, strangers, that you were birthed from an alpha wolf and a clans master, the two highest ranks within each race? What the hell are you?" William questioned. He was very much aware that she was telling them something rather valuable.
Lenore patted her shoulder comfortingly. "I am truly sorry about your predicament. It was not your fault. However, I am about to confirm something that bothers the alpha of this pack."
"Mother..."
"No, Lucian. I need to make sure." Lenore looked back at Csilla, hope within her tired eyes. "Say the name of the alpha."
Everybody watched in silence, the air becoming rather suffocating. What was going to happen? Lucian immediately picked up on what his mother was doing. He suddenly realized that she has never called him by his name before. William remained on the edge of his seat watching as intently as he could, his ears zoned in only on her as she whispered the alpha's name.
"Lucian Anderson..."
